I'm dreaming of a white Christmas......

Turkey leftovers anyone???
Kids even made fudge.

I'll have some turkey, BitsnBearsMom, with potatoes and gravy. Is there any fudge left? I'm not fussy on chocolate, but I love most other kinds. I picked up some pumpkin cheesecake that I could bring for dessert. :santa:

Had a great home day today..... fire is going and I gave us an early Christmas present of the new Harry potter movie. Went out to play in the snow and got that snowblower working (thank GOODNESS we have one..... it was DEEP!!)
Cooked a 15lb turkey that we were supposed to have at the family party that was supposed to be here last night but was cancelled b/c of the snow. Turkey leftovers anyone???
Kids even made fudge.
the way it's still blowing and the fact that our road is snowed in I can't see busses running tomorrow!
Hope everyone stayed in and safe today! going to be a white Christmas for sure :santa:

Stay Warm everyone and keep us posted. Take some pics and post them if you can!:goodvibes

we don't get the base numbers of Edmonton, but factor in the lake effect (86% relative humidity and -16 windchill), and the cold here gets into the bones. I absolutely hate winter.

hey digskat...I agree completely!! I am new here on the boards...been lurking for awhile getting info for our upcoming trip.....I notice you live near Lake HUron...we are in Wingham and getting blasted with snow ...as of right now both Hwy 4 and 86 are closed....we are stuck....but at least we are all home and safe:)

welcome to our addiction. LOL
We are due west of you, and snowed in. #8 is closed, as is #21 in both directions. #21 N will probably be a day or two, it is drifted in pretty bad. We just returned, and starting the planning for next year.

:scratchin ......

hmmmm......

when the snowplow operator borrows your shovel to dig out the snowplow that is stuck on the street

........ does that mean we have enough snow yet :rotfl2:

Hwy 4 being closed all day was a huge disappointment in our house today. DD16 was to go to London to the Keith Urban concert. No go because the roads were all closed.

3 girls are very sad and out $90 each - not fair IMO. If all roads are closed they should cancel.

That is so sad.....I could imagine what my girls would be like to miss aconcert!!...I have triplet 15 yr olds who were ticked 'bout a cancelled hockey game they were supposed to play......

I am so sorry for your girls.....

I would call JLC centre...you would think something could be done! You can't break the law and travel on a closed road!

Lots of turkey AND fudge for all - they made the eagle brand fudge and it was so easy - plain chocolate and then they made another with white chocolate and crushed candy canes on top.

Thank goodness their busses aren't cancelled today or I'm sure it would all be gone by tonight!! Plow came by last night too and Mr plow driver was kind enough to push it all to the other side of the road so not much shovelling out for me to do!!

Our busses were cancelled in London because the city didn't even send out our plows till after 4 AM. On a side note the white christmas may not come to pass according to the weather we are looking at temps up to 7/8 degrees and rainstorms by the end of the week.

noooo it can't happen!! I just looked at the weather network and it says +6 and rain on Sunday!! Perhaps they will be wrong..... wouldn't be out of the norm for that to happen :lmao: :rotfl2:

For all of you who suffered the wrath of snow, pixie dust for you! That's brutal! We're watching the weather channel here in Edmonton and yikes! Please be careful driving (when the roads open up again!)

Here's a shot of our BBQ on Monday evening in Mississauga

We have had 141 cm of snow so far this "winter" and the average snowfall for the entire year is only something like 160. :lmao: It's snowing now (not hard) and it's not supposed to stop until Thursday. :rotfl: You can no longer see the trunk on the 15 foot tree in our front yard because of the snow bank around it. The snow stops just shy of the branches beginning. :rotfl2: At some point all you can do is laugh. It's a little like living in a snow globe. It's a lot like the winters I remember as a child.

I don't need to dream in order to get a white christmas.

I am the opposite. I love the snow.

I generally love snow. But, after shoveling for 4 hours yesterday in order to clear about a third of the driveway and barely get 1 car out of the driveway, I'm re-thinking that position. Plus, it's been snowing again all day today!

We'd need about a week of rain at those temperatures to get rid of the snow on our lawns.

Why don't you ask Santa for one of these.

Wow we don't have that much snow here in our subdivision. A good hard rainfall and some watrmer temps and all but the snowbanks from teh plow would be gone around our place. We only had an accumulation of about 3 to 3.5 inches tops. When we shoveled out our driveway the sun was warm enough to melt the remainder of the snow on it down to the asphalt so our driveway is completley clear now.
