I officially am giving up on the resort discount. My opinion of Disney is going to be forever tarnished if I get one more rude CM on the phone.

I figured I'd try one more time and see what happens. I got the nastiest CM yet. I asked if I could get the 40% off that was being offered. She said "Did you receive a pin code?" I replied no, but wanted to find out anyway. She said "Well then why would you think we'd give you 40% off? If you get a pin code, you can call back and we'll check for you." I said thank you, and got an "Uh-huh", and she hung up.

Magical my foot.

I have encountered some lately who weren't feeling the magic. Of the past 5, only one was nice and way beyond helpful.

I agree about the rude CM's. I have been trying to plan a trip for a couple of weeks and have only gotten two nice ones out of about ten calls. :sad2:

You had a decidely unDisney moment, didn't you? Sorry about that.

I'm just curious, is there a chance that they are making some kind of comments on your profile that indicates how many times you have called asking for the code? I understand your frustration with trying to get a discounted room, but you've probably got a bunch of CM's right now that are taking the same type of calls all day long from people upset that they don't have a pin code. They're probably thinking to themselves: "Geez, how many times do we have to tell you there's no code!". Still that's no excuse for rudeness. Perhaps you should call back and ask to speak with a supervisor. Also, is there some way you could "test the waters" by calling and using a different name/phone number (maybe a spouse or relative and a cell number)? I just wonder if being more "anonymous" would help in this case. Good luck -- I know you're trying really hard to make a ressie. :goodvibes

This person wants to spend MONEY at WDW. She'd like a bit of a discount, and WDW will still make a profit! Rude telephone clerks are pushing her away! Not good corporate sense. Anyone listening at the WDW HQ???
A customer wants to come to spend money at your resort! This customer is your bread and butter. Why are you turning customers away?

If Disney wouldn't play games with 'codes' then it would be a lot easier on everyone involved. I know they can't offer everyone 40% off but just publish your sales and then first come first served. Where else do you keep calling back to see if you can get a discount.

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY.

I totally agree how silly and unfair it often seems as to who gets these special codes. If WDW doesn't want people calling continuously to check if they got a secret code attached to their names in the system, then they should do away with this form of discount. As another poster said, they should should just open up the rooms/dates at special prices and when they are gone, they are gone. Like the Swan/Dolphin do.

Also, I think that the CM's who answer the phones now often are not as friendly as I remember them when they weren't being outsourced from Orlando.

I haven't gotten any rude CM's lately, but I have been getting different answers every time I call. So, I've officially given up. It would have been nice to save $200, but this is Disney after all.
