1st def: Capable of or suitable for comparison. Disney's and Universal's quick ride system are certainly capable of being compared, and it's most definitely suitable to do so since ppl will want to know what the pros and con s of each are.
2nd def: Similar, or Like... The two systems again are similar and like in that they have many traits in common, yet many traits that differ. They are not identical, but they are similar.
That's like saying a Honda is comparable to a Toyota. Of course they're vastly different in some ways, but generally speaking, they are comparable. I will certainly maintain that the Disney FP system and SF Flash Pass and Universal's system are all comparable --
* They can be compared.
* It is suitable and appropriate to attempt to compare them.
* And they have many traits in common including their primary goal of managing ride queues to increase profit. They may do so by different methods but they are definitely comparable.

* Being similar functions offered by competing companies is what drives ppl to compare them.
