I'm bummed **Update** See post #12 & #19

I didnt read through this thread but it brings me an interesting subject about Universal Vacations. I would think twice before booking with Universal Vacations. They have a hefty change/cancellation fee. I booked through a TA, and when I found a cheaper rate on tickets and wanted to take the tickets out of the package, I found out that they charge $50 change fee per person. HEFTY!! I think it is better to book through Loews Hotel unless Universal Vacation has a deal. Don't book full price through Universal Vacations. It cost me lots of $$$$

Well look on the brightside, aside from the upgrade you may not have gotten any perks anyway. We stayed at PBH Sat and they asked what I would like for the welcome gift......too bad it never came :(

I let them know at check out that we did get our welcome gift and they offered a bottle of champagne. I refused and they gave me $10 off the mini-bar tab.

I think I'll let them know when I get the "how was your stay" email. I was pretty bummed becuase usually we book with the APH rate so I never am eligible - but this time AAA was cheaper.

MotherFletcher - I've been meaning to tell you when I went to the Studios a couple weeks ago, I went to Shrek and finally noticed where your screen name came from. Guess I never paid that much attention before!

I finally heard it in the movie last week. I kept trying to hear it in Shrek 2 but it is in Shrek. :bounce:

Hey everyone. Just got back today. Well, no luck with the Loew's benefits. When we checked in they said no b/c we booked with Universal who would be considered a "third party". I called the Loew's # and was told the same thing. Even if we were eligible there were no upgrades to be had. The resort was sold out. Huge group of people from Best Buy, 1800 of them. Oh well, we tried. We had a great time though! I have no regrets switching our trip from Disney to Universal. The kids, 8 & 10 had a blast as did me and my DH. We may have trouble convincing the kids to go back to WDW now! ;)

we must have been there at the same time. i was at hrh oct 7-10 and came home the 11.

i booked thru universal resorts and vacations and did receive my loews gift.
when i first booked i was told there was a black out period for the fri and sat but it was not on after that.
my gift came sunday morning. i called the front desk and found out.
the best buy group left early monday. think it was a 2 maybe 3 day stay for them.
1800.......i wasn't told that number. was told it was 200 for the contest winners.
not all of the best buy group stayed at hrh. i talked to some of them and found out the great gifts they received for their trip. they had 200 people at orlando that weekend. the top 100 salespeople won a free trip to universal based on their sales at the stores. each 100 winners was allowed to bring one guest with them. the group that stayed at hrh were most of the winners of the contest. my son works at best buy.

The 1800 number was told to us by the bartender at the pool bar at the RPR, so who knows. It sure did look like an awful lot of them wandering around RPR! That's awesome that Best Buy does that for their top sellers! I'm glad you got your gift!
