Hi all,
first let me say what a day at work i had yesterday.i started my day with a building collapse in brooklyn.several construction workers trapped in basement. It was a long hard job,but we got it done.then around 5 pm we were informed that nyc airport/airline radar was out.so we were told to be ready to roll to jfk, just in case of anything.of course nothing happened, thank god.then around 6 we get a run for a train derailment in carnarsie, brooklyn.I'm thinking it would be a hoax, but nope we pull up and its legit.A train with no passengers, thank god has derailed pulling out of the station with 2 cars being of the tracks.2 mta workers taken to local hospitals with minor injurys. now for the I'm broken part.I ripped or tore a muscle in my left shoulder and back at one of these jobs.I'm gonna say it was the building collapse, but i'm don't know for sure as i just started to have really bad pain around 9pm at the firs house..I refused to go out injured or line of duty injury.to be honest it hurts alot,a real lot.i have pain when i take a deep breath or move my left arm quick.i can still move my arm it just hurts if i do it too quick.i have to go in for a 16 hours shift today,so i will keep an eye on it and see.I'm using that ben gay heat pack/patch on my back and tylenol.i will give it a day or two and if i don't feel any better i will get it look at.have a great day all.

Wow, what a day for you...........

Hey, you really need a hug :grouphug: . I do hope you feel better soon.

:grouphug: don't wait to long to get it looked at......hope you get to take it easy a little today....... :goodvibes

I admire you deeply!!! I hope you feel better :grouphug:

I hope you feel better soon. Thank you for all of the hard work you do!

You are a hero while doing your job every day. Don't be a hero with this. Get it checked. You could be doing more damage to it which means it would take longer to heal. Okay? Okay.

You should at least get it checked out. I hope you are feeling better soon! :grouphug:

Please-get it checked out. Sounds like torn rotator cuff or the muscle is frayed. I also could move my arm if I did it slowly, but the end result was it had a tear and wasn't going to repair itself. The sooner you get it checked/repaired, the easier the job and recovery. Good luck and thank you for all you do! :)

ETA: Heat didn't help initially-Ice/cold will as it will reduce the inflammation.

Sorry to hear that you had such a bad day! Please go have your arm checked out soon.

Feel better soon. :grouphug: Thanks for doing such a great job! I was watching the TV yesterday morning when the construction worker was trapped and then again last night when the 5:00 news showed the derailment. Stay safe.
