I'm back!

I don't know if any of you remember me from a few years back, but I just FINALLY got the budget OK to plan another trip to WDW! We are back AND with a new baby this time around.

We had expected to be back in the World since our last trip in Dec. 07, but it just hasn't happened. I'm so excited to be planning a new trip, as we have NO idea what our dates our or where we want to stay this time. It's exciting!

So, I'm back here at the FW lounge to see what's new/improved at the Fort. When we were there, it had just been cleared out of a lot of brush, but still lookied incredibly beautiful. In fact, that 10 day stay in Cottontail Curl is one of the best memories of my life!

Welcome back!

Soooo much has changed. The pool has been updated and now has a slide. There is also a kiddie mini water park/splash zone. They even put in a hot tub. They have added premium sites and the partial ones now have cable.

Go through the old topics and see how much has changed. I have not been since last year, and was supposed to be just getting back from there now. I have postponed my trip until May.

While a lot has changed in the past two years, a lot remains the same.

In addition to the changes already mentioned, the Fort now has its own dog park.


And all the sites now have hot and cold running water!



And the Meadow Snack Bar lost an "s" and you can now get a smothered hot dog there. (that's a hot dog covered with pulled pork and coleslaw).





Actually, I am kidding about the hot water.

But not the hot dog!

To jog my memory, I looked at some of your old posts, and was reminded of the time when you asked about the sites having hot water.

Sorry to bring that up, but you aren't a newbie, and you know how it goes around here.

And don't forget the most important change since you went the last time, the price went up!

I also think it was in the last two years that they changed the policy so that you might pay two or more different daily rates during your stay. No longer pay the check-in price for the whole stay.

Welcome back! I was not around several years ago as I am new to the boards over the past few months but I can see how you would miss this great group of folks!

Disney with a little one is going to be the greatest experience yet! It is different that's for sure but in a great way! My DD2 has already been 5 times! and DD 6 months is working on time number 3!!

Nice to meet you and hope to see you soon at the Fort!

I want you to know that I spat my coffee right at my monitor when I read that this morning! Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. It's good to be back, and good to see the board hasn't changed!

It's also kind of heartwarming to remember that I actually asked that question! We have since been camping countless times and I have to giggle at having been such a newbie. Good times, good times.

I had actually stayed away from the Disboards for a long, loooong time because it didn't appear that we would be making a trip and just thinking about WDW made me sad! Our last trip was so incredible and such a special time with my family. Can't wait to do it again with another kiddo!

Thanks for welcoming me back! I plan to do some digging around to see how things are. Ah, rate increases...the only thing certain in life. (Aside from death and taxes!)
