Hope all of you other Buffalo area DISers are hanging in there! We finally got our power back last night after 6 long days of living like pioneers.
This place is truly a disaster area. Many of our beautiful old stately trees are gone now. Sad, because Buffalo is a city rich in history - and the trees themselves are pretty darned historical.
But all in all, we fared well. DH drove to Pittsburgh to buy generators for us and some friends - couldn't find them anywhere else in the state or Canada. At least there, he didn't get price gouged.
Had a little carbon monoxide scare when our neighbor's generator fumes seeped in through our bedroom window - the dope put it practically right under our window.
Had CO readings of 350 and a headache to end all headaches. Thankfully, opening the windows cleared it up quickly. The CO, not my headache - that thing lasted and lasted.
So, if you were planning a trip to our fair city - bring a truck with you - you can have all the free firewood you can handle.
