I think the characters are told to do this since the paper could something in any language or symbol that could cause offence or embarashment.

Also let's just pretend that Mickey did understand it so takes it willingly and posed for the photograph with it. The next family come along and think that is great so they present their card. But because Mickey does not understand this writing... what does he do
