Hey everyone,

I'm back from Disneyland/California Adventure. I followed a lot of your advice-especially HydroGuys :wave2: - and had a great time. It was crowded but we never waited more than 20 minutes for a ride.

Players: Me and an old friend, both late 30s. Kids and hubby stayed home! Just a girls week at DL!

I arrived to DL last Monday night. The hotel we chose was Best Western Park Place Inn and Suites. I don't think you can get any closer when staying off site. I recommend the hotel if you are just looking for a place to crash (which is what we wanted). The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The pool looked fine- small. Now, about that breakfast. It wasn't that good. There were bagels, toast, cereal, coffee and juices. Not much to talk about.

My friend arrived earlier in the day so we met at Captain Kidds for dinner. DO NOT eat there and pay for it. Even for free, I wouldn't eat there. I had a hamburger and it was awful. The restaurant wasn't very clean (the menus stuck together). I had to ask three times for a server.

Now, on to the parks. We went to Dl on Tuesday morning. We got there about 8am for EE. We tried to get out the door earlier, but no such luck. The lines to get in weren't too bad. We went to Fantasyland first and Peter Pan already had a gigantic line so we skipped that. Within the first hour, we were able to ride Snow White, Pinocchio, Tea Cups and Matterhorn 3 times (the left side is definitely better!) We rode Small World right at 9am and then headed over to Space Mountain. The line was only 5 minutes so we rode stand by. The new Space Mountain is awesome so we rode it again! And again! Then we rode Buzz and Star Tours. Time for lunch (I eat lunch early- 11am). We ate Red Rocketts- yummy. Then on to Innoventions. We enjoyed a few of the exhibits and then left.

We shopped all the stores in Main Street (I had to bring the kids home SOMETHING from Disneyland). We left DL around 3:00 and headed over to DCA. We saw Golden Dreams- nice movie. Wouldn't see it if I were pressed for time though. Then we saw Turtle Talk with Crush. That was hysterical. Can't wait until the kids see it at Disney World. Time for the Block Party Bash and then dinner at Wine Country (yummy lasagnas). The "old" ladies (that's us) were really tired so we headed back to the hotel and were in bed by 8pm!

Wednesday was another day. We got to DL around 9am and rode Space Mountain yet again. Then over to DCA by 9:30. First- Soarin' Over California. I love that ride! Wait was about 15 minutes. Picked up a FP at 10am and headed over to ToT- holy cow. I think I left some body parts back there. That ride is wild. I wouldn't even open my eyes!

Then we rode Monsters- the line was 5 minutes. Boring. My kids would have loved it but I was disappointed. I thought it should be a fast ride like Indy. Time for lunch at Taste Pilots. Another yummy meal. I love those chili cheese fries.

After lunch, we rode GRR. Now, here's something unusual. They didn't offer FP that day for GRR. It wasn't broken, but they just didn't offer FP that day. That was true of several rides at both parks. Good thing the wait was only 15 minutes. I managed to stay relatively dry although my friend got soaked. :rotfl2:

After GRR, we rode Soarin again. First time we were on the top row and this time we were in the middle row- what a big difference. It was so cool from the top, but seeing everyone's dangling feet lost some of the appeal.

We are not much amusement ride people so back to DL for us. We rode HM, Jungle Cruise, Indy, BTMRR and Tiki Birds. Of course, we got a Dole Whip! Then on to Billy and the Hillbillys. Arrived about 45 early- we were already pooped and it was only 4:00! We had front row seats. Show was funny.

Dinner at Plaza Inn, shopping on Main Street (again) and back to the hotel.

Thursday was our last day. :( Back to DL, arriving at 9am. We rode Splash Mountain and then went to Toontown to meet Mickey and Minnie. Got to Toontown right at 10am and the line for M&M was about 10 minutes each. We headed over to DCA for Aladdin. We had time to ride ToT again. Oh buy, I can't believe I went on that ride TWICE. Ate at Taste Pilots again and headed off to the theater for the show. We arrived at noon for the 12:35 show and we were weated in the Mezzanine! There were soooooo many people already there. I did notice that as we left the theater at 1:30, people arriving for the 2:00 show were being seated in the orchestra section. So maybe the first show of the day is really crowded. The show was great. I am glad you guys encouraged me to see it.

Then it was back to DL- we had the 50th Anniversary tour scheduled for 2:00. The tour was good. We got to "cut in line" for Splash Mountain (the stand by wait time was 70 minutes), BTMRR, Storybook Canal and Haunted Mansion. We were supposed to ride Buzz but the ride was down so we got a NSA pass (meaning no strings attached pass- we could ride any ride just like a FP) So we chose-----Space Mountain!

The tour ended at 5:30. We also got special parade seating at the train station which I think sucked! It would have been much better down on the street where all the action was. And personally, I wasn't too thrilled with the parade. Couldn't the princess have their OWN float? :confused3 ANd Mickey and Minnie could have had their own one, too. Parade was way too short! i was quite disappointed.

But another ride on Space Mountain cured that! We stayed in the park until about a half hour past closing- sitting on Main Street, watching all the people.

Friday- time to go home.

WOW, sounds like you had a fabulous time! Thanks for sharing. :)

Great report - sounds like you had plenty of time to do everything you wanted to do without being rushed. Looking forward to my 3 1/2 days there next month. Yeah, that Space Mountain rocks! (My favorite!)
