Well, here is my second attempt at a trip report. Hope you enjoy it. If you have any questions just ask away, Ill try to answer in a reasonable amount of time but, I work for the next few nights.
Cast: jdads2 me, Dave, loving husband, planner and maybe somewhat over planner .the one, when we get to WDW, is most likely to say: what do you want to do instead of following the itinerary
DWofjdads2 Jackie, my lovely and patient wife.
Well, were all set for our second trip, very first without the kids WooHoo!!
A couple of things first off: Generally, crowds were light. They had their busy moments but not too bad. Weather was cool and sometimes very cool. I wont go into the meals in depth in the reports on this board, Ill put them on the restaurant board. Security at the parks hasnt changed since October, at least not to my untrained eye.
Day 1:
Up at 4:30 in the am to be at BUF by 6:10 in order to catch our flight at 8:10. My mom is watching the kids and arrived the night before. It snowed overnight, the first snow since the big storm at Christmas that dumped 7 feet (yes feet) during a 5 day span. Roads are sloppy and traffic is a little slow in some spots but we really dont have a problem getting to the airport. As a matter of fact the whole check-in, security process went rather smoothly. Translation: we had about an hour and a half to wait before we took off. Once again we flew with Southwest and the flight was very pleasant. The crew was great even sang to us on a few occasions.
We decided to take the Mears shuttle instead of try the public busses. We were very concerned about making the plane for our return trip. We were very lucky. As soon as we got off the plane we headed to the Mears check-in (no baggage to claim, only brought carry-ons). As soon as we checked in we were directed to the stop. Only sat for about a minute before the bus showed up and then off to All Star Music we were the last ones to be picked up so we had a quick trip to our resort.
Once we got to All Star music there was a half hour wait our first hint at how different this was going to be from staying at the Poly for us to check-in. Lots of cheerleaders!! OK, actually dancers, but I dont really know the difference. One nice thing was that it was just barely noon when we arrived and our room was ready. Well, sort of anyway. Mousekeeping wasnt ready with it yet but it wasnt a long wait. As soon as we could get into the room we unpacked and headed to MGM.
We got to MGM in time to see Tom Brady Superbowl MVP. But, who cares I dont like the Pats. Sooo, we headed over to ToT and RnR. GOOD TO BE BACK!!! Then after that we hit Sounds Dangerous (dud) and the Great Movie Ride which broke down at the end so we didnt see the finale, oh well. I decided to head over to Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular to pull the rope. It was a good thing that Jackie had the Passporter with her. The CM I asked didnt know what I was talking about when I asked him about it. Glad we had the info written down in front of us!
Next, off to meet my sister at Prime time Café. We met cousin Roy there and asked about the recent refurbishment. He wanted to know where we were while all the work was being done. I apologized for not helping but said that at least we were there for the first night that they were open. Cousin Roy didnt have a come-back for that one. Did I ever mention that Jackie doesnt like veggies? She was putting her veggies on my plate so that I would eat them. I was so stuffed that I gave them back to her and Roy caught me in the act. I told him that they were Jackies and not mine and I was putting them back on her plate and and you get the picture. I finally proved it by telling Roy that I would eat some green beans I love green beans. Now it was Jackies turn. Boy, do we have some neat photos of Roy feeding Jackie some green beans!!! Dont worry, Ill post them.
After a very filling dinner my brother-in-law and I decided to see if we couldnt loose our dinner by going on RnR and ToT!! No such luck! We just laughed our butts off. I did manage to scare the heck out of some cheerleaders though. Great Fun!!
After hitting the rides we headed over to Epcot in order to see Illuminations. Ate crepes on the way over to the new AP Viewing area. Nice, but I wish they would put in some seats, at least for the fireworks.
After the show we sauntered out of the park and caught a ride back to All Star Music with my sister, dropped off our bags, freshened up a little and went to have Drinks at team Spirits with my sister and B-I-L. Then, off to bed. Long, but fun day.
