I'm appalled at emergency response time on WDW property

Yup they were! One of the first things I was told was never to call for an ambulance - that I could drive all the way across base, even with red lights, and be quicker than the ambulance just to get to us

I was at an air show where there was a crash, although I only went on the day previous to the crash. It was really odd too. Some of the evidence suggests that the pilot might have survived the crash, but was trapped. It was out on the tarmac for a few seconds before it burst into flames. The criticisms were that there should have been fire trucks stationed near the area where the performers were operating. It took 3.75 minutes from the call to the truck being on scene, although apparently someone ran onto the tarmac with a fire extinguisher.

I have to chime in on Disney's side on this one. We had just exited Epcot at the International Gateway on our way back to the Swan when my 20 year old non verbal autistic son had a grand mal seizure and fell to the ground. CM's and security were there in seconds, although we were just past the boat dock. Disney EMT's were there in 5-6 minutes with gurney, AED, heart monitor, etc. Since he had only had one seizure previously about a year earlier we decided to go to the ER. The ambulance was there in maybe another 5 minutes after we decided we needed transport. This was early May 2016, so not a busy time of year, but our experience was excellent. Everyone from CMs to security to Disney EMTs and Reedy Creek (guessing it was them) EMT's were wonderful. I really need to write a letter to Disney thanking them for such good care.

How scary! I hope all is well with your son.

He is doing well and has a follow up appointment with a neurologist in July (soonest we could get an appt). And yes I was terrified. Celebration ER was excellent as well and CNP said it was fine to continue our vacation minus some of the rougher rides. One funny thing that happened is the Disney EMT asked me what kind of autisim my son had. I had no idea what he meant. I must have looked at him very strange because all I could think of was "not the kind you see on TV". My son is non verbal, has severe behavioral outbursts including stomping, screaming, self injurious hitting, and head banging. And no he cannot play concert piano or solve government security codes.
