I'm afraid DS will be upset by our surprise trip

So at lunch today I tell DS the good news: that I realize that he's big enough for ST and we don't have to wait til he's 48" because he can ride that with Dad while the others go on RnRC. He got excited and agreed that that would be fun and OK. I also asked the kids if they wanted to know when we plan our next WDW trip or be surprised and they all said they wanted to be surprised. They want us to just wake them up and tell them to get dressed, we're going to Disneyworld.

That's cool that you managed to make it better without having to blow the surprise. It is nice to know that your kids WANT the surprise. Now you can rest easy until the trip! Have fun!

Sounds like it's all going to work out great. I'm really happy for you! Have a great trip.

I hope you have a great trip and that everyone has a wonderful time.

I'm glad you're going to let your daughter ride if she wants to and she's old enough. If you kept her off the ride for your son's sake, you'd be building a really short bridge to sibling hatred. I'm with you on that one. Kids, like adults, need to do their best to be happy with what they have. It's not like you're taking one to Disney World and another to the playplace at McDonald's. Your son will have a blast whether or not he can ride the big rides (and I'm fairly confident he will be able to). So have a great time with your family, and let us know how it goes when you get back. :D :dance3:

Gee, so now I'm building a really short bridge to sibling haterd:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

Don't think so but thanks for the warm & fuzzy sentiment.

I had to laugh at the title, because my DS is upset by anything! So my response was Yup, my ds would hate being surprised too!

He is mad at me right now because my DH called from his job and said, "Why don't you come out here, they have curtains here buy one get one 1/2 off". I said sure and as DS was eating lunch I made the fatal error of saying "Who wants to take their bath first, we are going to dad's work?" He refused to eat any more lunch and is sulking. He is 5!

Sure you are!:rolleyes1

What you are really doing is building a bridge to parent hatred, which in Parenting 605 (Graduate level doncha know) it is specifically stated in the fourth chapter of "How to Parent Without Excuses" that the "Ultimate goal of any good parent is to be hated at some point by thier child." It means you are doing your job. I think you will hit the mark by not allowing your child on R&RC!

Seriously, any sibling will see this for what it is (to them) that mom or dad is being unreasonable, and it is no fault at all of said short statured sibling.

Now my DS has cornered the market on the bridge to sibling hatred. He touches his sisters nose at any opportunity available and giggles about it! My laughter when he does this is only contributory, but not the main reason. My conscience is clear!:lmao:
