Right at this moment I am fighting the urge to make a second trip to Goodwill today! I feel like a bargain addict. That is where I find tons of toys and stuff for my 3 girls. Yesterday I found 2 really cool lamps for DD13, and 2 Disney 2005 guides for me (50 cents each :) ). I stopped in this morning and found a fisher price xylophone alligator ($1), little tikes doll stroller ($3), and a Zenith color tv ($35). I stop in daily, and the employees know mine and my twins' names (DD13 won't step foot in the place). But, today I am wanting to go back. It is just about 3 minutes away. I feel like I need an intervention!

 I couldn't fight the urge!

I found Stroller Magic Baby and Stroller with Removable Carrier. She was $5, but it all looks brand new as if it has never been played with.

Still didn't see a Little Tikes cottage playhouse (my dream find :hippie: ).

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I have been addicted to the Goodwill for about a year...when my "problem" started, my DH would not go into the place....now he is the one saying, "do we have time to go to the Goodwill." Once you find 1 great buy - you are hooked! Especially if you are a cheapskate like me! I like good brands and you can find Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie, Gap, etc. like crazy at the Goodwill in our neighboring town...it is a college town!

I feel your addiction! I try to stop at our local thrift store at least once a week. I've gotten so many really nice dresses and suits there. I find that usually someone will donate several items in the same size and that's when I rack up. Last week I got three really nice suits (Coldwater Creek, Talbots, and Leslie Fay). I had them dry cleaned and they look great. I spent a whopping $12.00 on the three! I love the thrill of the find! Oh, and my 11 year olf DD refuses to go in with me, but my other two kids love the fact that they can take in $2.00 and come out with quite a loot!

WE live in a college town! Must be why we have such a good one here, too! I am a super cheapskate. Did you see Dr. Phil the other day with the "cheapskate" husband? I thought they were making a big deal over nothing when they mentioned taping the ripped diaper back together. A diaper may be only 34.5 cents but that adds up over the course of a day (especially with 2 babies). If a new diaper gets ripped because they are wiggling, I sure as heck am gonna tape that sucker back together. :lmao:

I bought a bunch of good Disney movies (videos) at our Goodwill. They are $3.00, and it costs that much to rent a movie! I like the thrill of going and then finding something great at a good price.

We had a rare Disney find. Ds found a plush Eeyore, brand new, with an Animal Kingdom price tag still on it.

I love Goodwill...and the very funny part of it is...once a month the one here has a 1/2 off day....that's the day I go. Isn't it bad when you get excited about going to Goodwill on 1/2 day?!?! I almost don't go there sometimes because I think...well...1/2 day is only a few days away!! :thumbsup2

Too bad you don't live near us - we are taking ours to a kid's consignment sale this weekend! My girls have outgown it - we kept it inside on our screened-in porch so it is in GREAT shape. :)

OMG this is too funny!!! I like to go to & look for the exceptional good deal!!! I have found many. Really great to get idea's for Halloween homemade costumes too... Last year I found a brides-maid gown that was very much like Cinderella's... grabbed it for $8.00!!! I have even got my dd's into looking in there for things too! My son still thinks that is a no-no  so if I find something for him, I tell him it was from ebay :lmao: and he is ok with that :confused3 My husband will not go in, but if I find something for him, he will wear it (and really ends up liking it). Last month I found him one of the "dri-fit" Nike polo's...brand new for $3.49!!!!
Maybe I will check mine out this weekend... after doing FAFSA for 2 of my children..

I'm in Louisiana. Is that near you? :wizard:

I know this is bad...... but I do the Salvation army on Wednesday. They are half off. :yay:

Sadly, no. We are on the SC coast.

What part of LA are you in? I have some good friends in Metairie. :)

Occassionally, I stop in our local Salvation Army, but I never buy. Their items are broken and overpriced (ex. a Fisher Price walking toy with wheels that wouldn't turn and all the extra pieces missing for $4!). Or just creepy like a big 50 gallon oil barrel filled with mismatched crutches (picture like an umbrella holder). :crazy2: There is also a big room that always has at least 5 wheelchairs! Creepy stuff! What is anyone going to do with a cracked glass coffee pot (trash art?)? I just don't go there because it is so weird!

Me too! You know you're a serious, um, bargain hunter, when you're unwilling to pay full price at Salvation Army! ;)

My best find was a Sonia Kashuk (sp?) designer dress I got for $5 that still had tags on it from Bergdorf-Goodman's. The tags had been marked down from $1400 to $700! Even better, the dress actually makes me look thin!! l call it my tango dress...

I LOVE the Goodwill, too ;)

I stop in at least once a week. Ours has a huge bin full of baby/toddler clothes that are 99 cents a piece (unless it's a certain color tag and then it's half price) and I have gotten so many of my dd's things there! They're mostly all Gymboree or Baby Gap and in like-new condition. I love being able to dress her in such nice clothes :thumbsup2

I have to admit that, at first, I was a little snooty about it.. but all it took was that first bargain run when I scored big with some Ralph Lauren and Gymboree stuff, then I was HOOKED!

Our Goodwill and Salvation Army stores stink. :( They don't have many decent quality things and are way overpriced. Our Target donates it's old merchandise to Goodwill. Our Goodwill then marks it UP from Targets lowest markdown price. It is truly bizarre. :(
