I'm a Nervous Wreck (female advice)

We did, but she apologized, and it was soon after we found out she was pregnant. I soon realized 2 things.

1.If she's going to act a bit aloof, she has an excuse.
2.Under no circumstances will I argue with her over anything. I want her to be as peaceful and calm as is humanly possible.

I had quite a lot of bleeding in my pg to the point that I was "certain" I had lost the baby....several days of stress and tests later, we had a ******l ultrasound and there she was, our little lima bean! :teeth: I continued to bleed off and on for weeks, more than spotting at times. I had to take it easy but it was worth it.

It turns out, the OB was pretty sure I had lost a twin, not uncommon I found out. One baby was viable and one was not, sad but in the end, we have our little Pixie, 5 1/2 yo and currently enjoying a bubble bath!

God, do I pray you are all right and everything will be fine. The day I found out she was pregnant was the happiest day of my life, and since then, I've been counting the days down. I know how I'll devestated I'll be if anything is wrong, so I can't even imagine what my wife will be going through.

I bled (bright red) for a good part of my first trimester. Everything turned out fine, I have a healthy 6-month old daughter. There was never an explanation for the bleeding, it sometimes just happens.

:grouphug: You are breaking my heart! Please know that you are both in my thoughts and please do keep us updated.

I spotted a lot at the beginning of my 2nd pregnancy because there was a tiny rupture in some blood vessels in my uterus, turned out okay. Pregnancy is a weird and wonderful experience, I pray you get to continue this journey. :grouphug:

I had bleeding when I was in my first trimester wiht my now 6 yr old DD. It was quite alarming.

I went to the hospital and they did an ultrasound and an exam. The ultrasound suggested a tiny tear in the placenta. I went on to have a normal pregnancy. This was a darker blood.

I also had bleeding during my last pregnancy. I went to my Dr. and he said it was most likely from intercourse (sorry if that's TMI.) This was more pink in color.

Please take care. I am sending hugs. :grouphug:

I had pinkish spotting with my 3rd DD around my 7th week. The spotting only lasted a few days and everything turned out fine - she is an adorable 4-year-old now. Ironically, I have lost 2 pregnancies since and did not experience bleeding or spotting in either of them. You just never know I guess.

BTW if you discovered the pregnancy 2 weeks ago, your wife is further long than 4 weeks - my guess would be around 6 or 7 weeks. Pregnancy is dated from the date of the last menstrual period, not conception. So your wait is 2 weeks less than you thought! :)

Good luck to you

:grouphug: to you and your wife. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

I had bleeding in all of my pregnancies. Three pregnancies were successful and three were not. I bled so much during my last pregnancy that I was certain that I was going to miscarry. My son is now 7 weeks old.

I hope it all works out well for you and your wife. Please let us know how it all turns out.

I had bleeding with two of my pregnancies. One ended in miscarriage the other is now a happy healthy 14 month old. It is a really scary thing to go through. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife.

I had the same thing happen with me with my DD2 when I was about 6 weeks along. After that episode, I was fine, but it was very scary for me and DH.

Good luck to you!

I had bleeding with both of my pregnancies. After the doctor examines you, that can trigger bleeding so if she's had that first exam, that could be the cause. It happened with my 2nd.

With the first, I was 4 weeks along and I woke up to brownish blood and was worried I was miscarrying. It went on for a few weeeks and then stopped. A few months later, it came back and was bright red and there was tons of it. I was in my 14th week and thought for sure I was losing the baby, but it was a low lying placenta. The placenta was under the baby and with my stomach expanding, it pulled away from the uterine wall and bled. I had to do bed rest for 3 months (the entire middle trimester). My son is 6 now.

With my 2nd, I bled during the first trimester off and on. They weren't sure why. I had 3-D ultrasounds and they couldn't find a reason for it. My daughter is 4 now.

Bleeding is very common. It's also very scary. My husband had to hide the pregnancy books from me b/c I would read them and imagine all kinds of bad things were happening to me. Good luck.

Well, my post isn't anything about the bleeding. I do wish you all the best though!!

I'm just remembering how upset your wife was last week or maybe a week before about the movie/friend deal. I hope all that is going better esp. since you are adding a little one to your family! And also note that when women are pregnant the hormones can be raging! My sister and I had the most horrible *fight* when she was pregnant with her first child. We had never really had a fight before and it was awful. It seemed she had saved all her complaints about me for that fight that night!!

Good luck! :)

I know how scary it is for you. My opinoin is that since your not sure exactly how far along she is and she only had a little bleeding, it could of been the implantation of the egg attching itself to the uterus wall which sometimes will cause a little bleeding, nothing to be alarmed about, but I will keep my fingers crossed that it is nothing major.

such a scary thing to endure (for both of you). i found out i was pregnant (my first) just about 12 years ago this week. i began bleeding about 6 weeks into the pregnancy and continued to do so for the entire first trimester. all was well though-our dd is now 11 years old.

my obgyn said it just happens in some pregnancies and with some women (my mom had the same thing with a couple of her pregnancies). i never even spotted once during my second pregnancy (ds is now 8).

if all is well (and i pray it is)-get a copy of "what to expect when you are expecting". it is the BEST "owner's guide" for pregnancy. they manage to cover every question, concern, "what if?" in the world.

please keep us updated.

There is also implantation bleeding when the embryo attaches to the uterus.
I'm not sure of the exact time frame for that, though.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts. It makes me feel better to hear some of your stories.

Not to sound corny, but this has truly changed me. When I found out my wife was pregnant, I just started looking at things differently. My wife included.

Just Sunday I was so excited - We went to Babies R Us and scanned into their registry about 12 items for the nursery that came out to over $1,000. My wife was a bit nervous about the money, so I had this plan to take half my tax refund in February and go buy it all at once and have the nursery all done by the time she came home from work. Now, I'm just parying that we see pregnancy in February.

Another concern I have is that my wife is saying now that she "doesn't feel pregnant." Says she isn't hungry, thinks she's lost weight and isn't feeling sick.

I'm hoping this is all in her head, but it's got us both worried.

Many, many people don't feel pregnant. I never was hungry during my pregnancy. I did get morning sickness but it didn't start until my 8th week. Some people never get it. Also, I didn't gain any weight until my 3rd or 4th month.
