Today is the 6 month anniversary of my Big Diet and Exercise effort. I've lost 47 lbs so far and have gone from really tight size 40 jeans (loose fit, of course!) to size 36 being a little loose. I've lost 20% of my original body weight and I'm shooting for 5% more. I've gone from being "obese" to having a BMI in the "healthy" range.
Everyone here is a real inspiration and I've lurked almost daily for several weeks now. Good job, you bunch of losers! (and I mean that in the nicest way!)
I made my "mini-goal" for the 4th of July and my next mini-goal is for my birthday (July 30) just 3 lbs away. Then it's on to my "summer vacation goal on August 16th which will equal my wedding weight of 177.
I'm not following any particular diet. I am eating low fat, avoiding "white carbs" (potatoes, rice, pasta, regular white bread, corn and peas) and trying to keep calories to 1800 /day. Its sort of a modified WW program from 20 years ago (remember the 5 fish a week, 5 breads, 3 fruits plan?)
I work out for about 90 minutes a day 6 days a week. About 30 minutes with free weights and 60 minutes cardio /aerobics. It is tough to drag myself out of bed at 5:00 am to work out, but it works for me. I split my workouts to 60 minutes in the morning andd 30 minutes as soon as I get home from work while dinner cooks.
This board is helping to keep me motivated to reach my ultimate goal of 11 more lb. by Halloween. Thanks everyone!
