I'm 34 today

TickTock-

Can I tell you something that someone once told me. You see my youngest son has alot of health problems, too many to count. He's only two and he has honestly changed my life in good ways and bad (more good than bad though :) ). Anyways, one of his nurses told me one day when I was telling her how guilty I felt for feeling sorry for myself because so many parents out there have it so much worse than me- what she said next really stuck with me. She said, "you're right alot of parents do have it worse than you do but that doesn't lessen the fact that what you're dealing with is a struggle for you. Just do it the best you can". I think about this alot when things get rough for me.
I hope that you've had a happy day and please know I'm always here to listen.

Ticktock,

I really feel for you having GI problems. I have had them and it's very debilitating. You can't go anywhere for any length of time. Your normal life is completely disrupted.

I don't know if you ever check out the religious programming on tv in your area. Sometimes, the programmes can be a source of inspiration and strength. Such positive shows are sometimes sorely lacking in secular tv. Not a push, just a hint from me. :sunny:

I also really feel for you about the volunteer option. Because of illness, you can't be relied on and you'll let people down. That's too bad. There's a lot that goes into being a volunteer such as having transportation to the activity and remembering to go!!

Have you thought of a hairpiece yet? It could make you feel better.

Oh, and another thing, compared to me, 34 is young! :Pinkbounc

Happy Birthday TickTock! Yesterday was my 39th birthday. I do not feel 39...maybe 29. I treat myself somehow on my birthday like yesterday I decided NO housework, laundry and such. I was going to do things I wanted to do. Some friends came over and we all went to eat at the Cheesecake Factory and then shopping.

Last week my washing machine died but my dryer was ok but the set was like 15 yrs old so I told DH lets just buy a new set. So guess what DH said...I hope you like the dryer because it is your birthday present! MEN... :confused3 I said OK and went on. I do not let these small things bother me because life is to short. DH did send me some flowers and we are delaying my birthday dinner until this weekend.

We have to make the most of our day and we do deserve pampering. Do not feel guilty for doing something you want to do.

im 33...on my 33rd b-day, i got a bottle of Jack and sat in my house and listened to music and got hammered! It was quite fun, actually.

Happy Birthday Ticktock. I am 51 so you seem very young to me. :thumbsup2
