Where do you "report" for the Illuminations fastpass+? We got it this time because there truly wasn't anything else in that tier that we cared about (since Soarin is closed). Thanks, beachfan

The line will be just outside the area ... located between the two gift shops as you enter the World Showcase. Folks line up really early and it gets very long so if you were looking for an upfront location, arrive early. I actually like being all the way at the back because the ground slopes upward so you are higher ... but lots of folks have figured this one out as well.

Yep! We grabbed FP+ one evening last month sort of as an afterthought (Epcot was dead that day, so getting it was not a problem, and we really hadn't planned on using any FP+ that evening anyway, so it was painless to switch out in the MDE app) and headed to the viewing area about 15 minutes before the show. The front areas were indeed full, but as HopperFan said, the back is actually just as good because you are higher up. Plus, it's kind of fun to watch people try to sneak in from the gift shop and get shut down by the CMs.

If facing World Showcase with Spaceship Earth in back of you are the two gift shops on the left (Mexico side ) or the right (Norway). Thanks, beachfan

We had a bit of a hard time finding the Illuminations FP+ entrance in the dark, and it is very dark over there. If you stand between the two twin gift shops with Spaceship Earth at your back, the entrance to the Illuminations FP+ area is along the left side of the gift shop that is on the right (between the area of greenery and that gift shop). It can be hard to see because there are no tapstiles, just a couple of CMS with handheld Magicband readers, and they tend to blend into the crowd.
