Just wondering how early you need to stake out a spot to watch Illuminations? We are going in Sept. Also is there spots that are better to watch it from? Thanks!

:)Around 8pm. We usually watch from the Mexico area. Depends on which way the wind is blowing. If you are in direct wind you will get smoke that evening.

You don't want to be down wind lol. The little landing between UK, and France is a nice spot. The time depends some on the crowds. When it's busy, and hour ahead of time isn't a bad idea.

We like to grab supper, perhaps at the Fish Shop in UK, or another quick service, then find our spot, and eat supper. By the time we're done eating, it's nearly time for the show.

A late dinner at the Rose and Crown is an option too. Nice to watch the show from the tables outside, or from their private viewing area right by the lagoon.

Depends on where you want to see it from, honestly. We like to watch it from the Canada/France/England side, then make our exit through the International Gateway to the Boardwalk, and grab a cab there.

The Mexico area worked good for us last night, HOWEVER we had planned on arriving at 7:30, showed up at 7:50 to eat at the little taco stand but could not even get a table to eat at, it seems that you don't have to purchase food to sit there so the whole place was taken up by people who got there before we did, none of them where eating. We bought food, along with many others who had the same idea we had and had no where to sit, even standing there with a tray of food no one would offer a table, one guy got mad and told the manager that he just bought $90 worth of food and had no where to eat. So the manager dude tells us we can eat across the road at the pavilion, an uncovered area, in the rain, i asked the manager if it was fair for us to eat in the rain while those taking up tables were not and he simply replied "its Disneys rules and there is nothing i can do about it". SOOO all that being said, if you want a table or somewhere to sit and eat, GET THERE EARLY, like 7:00

I think 1 hour is good. We've been there for 4th of July 2x's and even then an hour worked for us. Last trip was in the month of Feb with a child and we had my parent's get spots while we finished test track with our on. Less wait is always better for little kids. An hour was fine then too.

We have found that we had a good spot along the rail between where you enter FW and Canada that my parent's picked I was surprised and then I remember that little spot that was great as your walking from France back towards Canada under a little tree we sat until it startd and ten up by the rail. Awesome.
