Where can we stand/sit for Illuminations, but still be closer to the front gate?

I am afraid that my DS is EXTREMELY sensitive to loud noise. As per suggestions, I purchased ear plugs but am not 100% that he will make it through.

So where should we be in case we need to make a quick exit? Thanks.

4 more days!!!!! :cool1:

Well you have the best of both worlds:

1) You are going at a slow time of year so you can get the following spot very easy.

2) The spot: If you walk from Future World to the World Showcase, walk DIRECTLY straight to the fence at World Showcase. It is the BEST place to view the show. There is actually a line in the concrete the runs directly from the center of Spaceship Earth to World Showcase. Stand there at the World Showcase. That is about as close as you can get to being at the show and the exit.

Also this is the exact spot that the designers of the show actually designed the show from.

Thanks for this information! I worry about my toddlers' having to deal with loud noise, and I'm absolutely terrified by it! I plan on buying ear plugs for myself and the kids and always like to have a good evacuation route if necessary. We have not done Wishes, Illuminations or Fantasmic yet because of the noise and late hours (because of the kids) but we'd like to try one or more this October.

it takes place in the ws lake so if you stood any place close to the entrance from FW to ws you couldt away from te action in afew moments( sorry my computer keeps deleting letters) just by walking toward the prk entrance. it is not in atheatre like fantasmic

The best spot is along the fence right as you read WS lake, but these get filled up very early. The bridge between Great Britain and France is a very good place and doesn't seem to get filled up as early. ;)

This is the area Im talking about, but this past week with crowds so low it never filled up. They never even opened the seating only area. I think at the time the show started you could still get up to the front row just behind the row along the fence.

A very important consideration is which way the wind is blowing. Be sure you are not down-wind or you will get a face full of smoke and won't be able to see much of the show. This should be your first consideration. After that, there are also good viewing locations from the bridge between France & the UK (great if your are staying in the BW area), in front of Italy and over by Germany.
