Illuminations Viewing Near Chefs de France?

For our May babymoon we have a 7:50 reservation at Chefs de France. We'd like to see Illuminations after dinner and wondering where might be the best spot to try for. We're not HUGE Illuminations fans and have seen it several times so it doesn't have to be perfect, just somewhere close by with a decent view that we won't have to line up for an hour to get. Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

There's a ton of spots. We usually catch a spot 5-10 min before the show. You'll be fine after your reservation

Any specific recommendations?

Nowhere specific other than somewhere along the water ,wall preferably, with a clear view of the lagoon

And keep in mind the direction of the wind. You don't want smoke to cover you if it's blowing in your direction

If you're not looking for the perfect spot, but one close by, there is a little pathway along the lagoon that goes behind a large tree, between the France pavilion and the Friendship boat dock on the way towards Morocco. I believe it's where you can do a character meet with Belle (and Beast?).
(Sorry, wish I knew how to add maps like Robo!). The view is further away, and slightly obscured by an island tree in the lagoon, but overall not bad. It used to be our go to spot when near France.
You can also try the bridge between France and the U.K., but that gets super crowded fast.

Absolutely. The most important decision is based on the wind. A great spot is absolutely the worst if the wind is blowing that way. Check the wind about 2 hrs or do ahead of the show and pick a good spot in the opposite direction.

In may, the wind direction would most likely be from the south to southeast, so the bridge would not be the best. I've never done it but you could walk down to Japan and watch from upstairs. Supposedly that has a great view. Usually I watch from Germany.

Near the lagoon :) Seriously, there's not a bad spot except with wind conditions so just come out of the restaurant when you are done, walk over to the lagoon side and find a spot.
