Illuminations Sphere Missing

I just got an AP after a few years' break and although I haven't seen Illuminations yet I did notice yesterday while on one of the Friendship boats (Morocco-Canada) that the sphere, which is usually parked just left of the stage when facing it, was gone.

Has it been elminated from the show or has it been moved to another docking location?

What time of day was it? They don't bring it out until mid afternoon. It is loaded backstage and they float it out by raising the bridge near China.

It was at 5 pm yesterday, roughly.

In the past the sphere was moored to the left of the stage throughout the day. Is it now in the back and they move it out later on?

1. Sorry, but that is incorrect.

2. It has always been moored backstage throughout the day and only
brought out when the IllumiNations crew sets the other barges for the show, which happens later in the afternoon/evening.

This has been the case for the duration of "Reflections of Earth" which has been running as the IllumiNations show
for nearly 15 years.

I've seen it being moved out around 4:00 in the past, they have to raise the bridge. They have to take it backstage to reload the fireworks inside, same with the rest of the Illuminations barges. They probably do not want to leave them sitting loaded the whole day.

The globe has always been floated out in the late afternoon/early evening.

I know because it is usually right about the time we want to cross the draw bridge. ;)

Ha, this! I'm forever getting stuck in the African Outpost en route to China.

My mind must be playing tricks on me then. I could swear in the past every time I passed that part of World Showcase during the day the sphere was moored to the left side of the stage. I'll have to pay more attention.

Thanks for the info.

You know, I think I remember seeing it there once upon a time. Maybe only once, and it may have been a few years ago.

I know I'm going against the grain of some powerhouse posters here, but so be it. ;)

It is towed out, late morning, early afternoon, and then moored to the left of the American Gardens Theater. It is left there until the second act of Illuminations, when it cruises out to the middle of WS Lagoon.
