I feel like I had a totally different experience than all of you! I've only done it once, earlier this year (Feb), and I really enjoyed it. We were running a bit behind and showed up roughly 15-20 minutes before Illuminations. Had a few desserts, hot coffee and chocolate, and grabbed a table with a great view. I probably didn't get my "money's worth" of food/drink by showing up late but that was my fault. Otherwise I thought it was great and would totally do it again.

No chairs is my big gripe. You are there for an hour, paying a fortune and can't even sit down to relax and enjoy it.

As is the case with other ticketed events at WDW, none are universally loved. For every guest that didn't like it, there are many that did and return.

Completely agree with this statement.

But I responded to your post ... to another poster stating there was no reason to line up early since you are guaranteed a table and you can always just move for a view. The setup there and Wishes have made it necessary to line up early so you can indeed select a good table.


"I'm confused by this statement. Once you check in and get your wristband, which you can do long before the party starts, you're free to leave and come back at any time. If you choose to, you may get in the Que, but that's totally up to you. The only advantage of being towards the front of the line is that you'll be able to select a table which you think has a good view. But that isn't that big a deal because you're guaranteed a table. And if you don't end up with a table that has a good view, you can move to a spot that does as there is plenty of space to move around in."
