Is the cruise worth it to see Illuminations or will the view be just as nice from Rose and Crown? Any suggestions? Thanks! :confused3

I went on the pontoon, and the winds were jjust in the right direction to blow all the soot from the fireworks on us - we were covered in ashes......
the view from Rose & Crown is very good - however keep in mind that outdoor seating is not guaranteed - BUT - if you seated inside, they will come and bring you outside to a viewing area

We have done Illuminations cruise twice and both times have been absolutely magical and worth every penny.

However, there is no way to predict the wind, whether you are attempting to watch from the boat or from anywhere around the World Showcase, including Rose and Crown. At least on the boat, you are guaranteed a front row viewing spot; you do not have that guarantee at R&C.

And of course if you book neither, but instead choose to view Illuminations from anywhere around the World Showcase Lagoon... you have the option of moving if the wind is blowing smoke at you. Not possible with either the cruise or Rose & Crown (well, okay - at R & C you could go back inside).

Humm...Thanks, everyone. Hadn't really thought about the wind blowing the ashes and smoke towards the boat. However, I think I'm leaning towards the cruise because I like the idea of parking at the Yacht Club Marina and not having to directly face the Illuminations crowd. Hopefully I'll make up my mind in a few days! :goodvibes
