which would you choose? it'll be 6 adults, 4 kids ages 5-9

also-
anyone know what times each show will be in May??

I have never seen the wishes cruise nor have I taken the illuminations one:However I do not understnad why the cruise for illuminations is so popular. We stood on the bridge right above the cruise boats. We looked straight down at them and could hear all they were saying. They showed up right before and just was there beside the other one. They were almost connected to one another. I do not mean to be critical but just don;t understand the expense for the same view we saw for free. Not to mention the fact that you have all those peole on the bridge above you. Maybe am missing something, if so please explain. Would hate to think it was just that night they were sitting there and usually they go somewhere else or something.

Show times in May are usually pretty consistent, maybe 9:30??? They'll be able to teel you when you book the cruise.

I've been lucky enough to do 3 Illumination cruises (but no Wishes) and each one has been fantastic!!! You have your own area with a great view right on the water. It's a fun, almost party, atmosphere with celebrating (birthdays, aniiversaries, etc.), food and drink (if you desire), nobody pushing and shoving, and the best part - arriving just before the show (no having to save spaces for an hour or so to get an unobstructed view).

As far as people above on the bridge - I've never even noticed them except for some of the RUDE ones who throw things off the bridge onto the people below - but I'm not going to get started on that!!!

Beforehand is a leisurely cruise from the Y&BC up to MGM, back by the Boardwalk to your "reserved" seating. I've always had the pleasure of having Capt. Ron and listening to his stories, trivia and fantastic facts of the area. After, there are no crowds to fight on the way out, and you can be dropped off at the Boardwalk or Y&BC way before anyone else has gotten out of EPCOT. I highly recommend it and look forward to checking out Wishes sometime in the future!!!!

Feel free to ask any questions!!! :teeth:

travelin' tigger -- thanks! finally an answer-- tho they didn't know when i booked as the hours aren't out yet- but i assume it's fairly consitent- maybe not! i just have young kids and we're doing the sunrise safari that same morning- up at 6am - so i'm worried it'll be too much

Sunrise Safari & an Illuminations cruise would make for a long day unless you take the afternoon off for rest. I'd recommend splitting things up, unless you think the kids can handle it!!!

As far as hours go, EPCOT Illuminations times are usually either 9 or 9:30 pm, depending on the time of the year!!!

We did a Wishes birthday cruise on the last trip and thought it was awesome. The fireworks at a distance were even better than up close and some of the kids in our group enjoyed them more because they weren't so loud. The music was piped into the boat, and I wouldn't hesitate to do this again. Our launch time was changed the day of our cruise though, because the fireworks were pushed back an hour. Luckily, I checked the schedule.

While we were out on the lake, another boat had a sing-along cruise. I had never heard of that one.

We did the Wishes cruise last year, and are doing it again. For $120. and up to 12 people, it's not really that expensive. The tour around was amazing, I never realized that there was a 4 lane highway underneath the lagoon! My husbands birthday falls on our annual trip and amazingly enough, we have gotten reservations twice for wishes. (I guess it is much easier to get than Illuminations.) Definitely a fun thing to do! We will eat at Chef Mickey's first, then take the monorail over to the Poly. I feel so relaxed just thinking about it now, although I know most people don't think of Disney as relaxing. I sure do though! :flower:
