Illuminations or fantasmic?

"better" is only an opinon.
in my opinion illuminations is way better.
i absolutely cannot miss it when i go.
i've seen fantasmic a couple times and don't find it worth the wait and i'm just not that impressed by it.

Hands down, Fantasmic is better. Especially after seeing Wishes fireworks, the fireworks at Epcot won't be as impressive.

really? because i'm not that big of a fan of wishes.
i'm much more impressed with illuminations fireworks than wishes.

That is something for us to consider. My LOs aren't ones to sit around and wait for the show, no matter how good it is!!

I agree. I do love Illuminations and see it at least once on every trip, but Fantasmic? No. The waiting is a dog, even with passes you need to queue up, and then that exit! My family refuses to ever go again.

Illuminations you can see no matter where in the WS you are. Yes, some spots are better thatn others, but you do nto need to allocate so much time to staking out your space.

Thanks for all the opinions! Think we'll do illuminations. It'll be DS's birthday so I think getting a sweet treat from one of the countries and watching illuminations will be a great end of his day.

I would never have a trip where I would not see Illuminations a couple times. Fantasmic is good but waiting on hard cold benches for 45 min is not fantastic at all, we see it maybe once in 5 trips.

This exactly! I love the show itself but the cold benches and trying to keep my little ones still for the long wait is not my idea of fun.

Both are good shows, but I would highly recommend Illuminations. The main reason is because of your kids. There is a part in Fantasmic that I feel may be a little too intense for smaller children (especially 2 1/2). I would say wait a few more years for Fantasmic with the little ones so that they don't become terrified in the middle of what is otherwise a fantastic show!

We do Fantasmic every few years or so but never miss Illuminations. That said, small children may enjoy Fantasmic better.

I think small children may be more easily captivated by the characters and effects of Fantasmic, but as I said above it may be a little intense. If you need a refresher, watch a video of it here:

The period from about 18:30 to 23:00 is pretty intense for little ones. I know every time I saw it there were lots of screaming/crying kids there. You know your kids best so choose wisely. I'd probably go with Illuminations for this trip.
