Has anyone arrived at the International Terminal at the Philadelphia Airport since 6/1/2010? At the customs area; where one waits abnormally long on most occasions and even longer if you are not an American citizen there is a new video playing on the flat screen televisions above the line area.

The new video is a composite of typically American scenes and different nationalities participating in all of our countries splendor playing to the music of....Illuminations: Reflections of Earth from Epcot.

This was particularly exciting to me as I returned from an overseas trip to hear some of my favorite music from any of the four theme parks. No one else in my traveling party being a Disney fanatic like me recognized the music and I have been unable to find any news or information about this online.

Does anyone know if Disney simply licenses the music to the airport or because the score was done by the London Symphony Orchestra with the Royal Philharmonic; if they own the rights to this music. Knowing a bit about Disney’s business practices, I highly doubt that Disney would let the original artists retain the rights of their creation which means that Disney themselves have allowed this to happen.

If anyone has any light to shed, I would appreciate it.

I could swear I heard Illuminations on TV once. For the life of me, I can't remember what I was watching (some sort of ad? a sporting event? I dunno), but am fairly certain I did.

I doubt that's much help.

I have no idea who owns the music or who can sell it or give it away or to whom. Sorry.

I missed it, but I breezed through check in for a very early flight. I will check when we go in August. Thanks for the heads up.:thumbsup2 Penny:hippie:

They play this video at other international arrivals areas as well. I know I've seen it in Miami and Dallas.

I believe Disney made this video for the government. It was also a part of helping wait times more bearable. I think of them as the pre-show to coming into e US. LOL.

I remember it from the Obama inauguration coverage on ABC!

i refuse to go anywhere if if requires using the Philadelphia airport.:rotfl2:

Did Disney make the video? It is used at Logan here in Boston too, but I don't like how the music is chopped up so much to fit the visuals. A little too much editing.

They also play this in Chicago O'hare and in Washington Dulles.
We arrive in those airports first and then travel to Orlando and it's always making me feel back home again when i hear that music!!!

It is definitely at Orlando International, which I love! Gets me in the Disney spirit as soon as I touch down! :thumbsup2

I would think the music is able to be used, subject to royalties. They used it in the Independence Day fireworks show at the University at Buffalo a couple of years ago.
