Okay, so now I have a 7:30 ps for rose and crown on Friday May 2nd. Is this too early to expect to hang out and see illuminations at our table? How is the view? Thanks

We did the Rose and Crown our very first trip for Illuminations. Ask for a seat outside...our table was great. They dim the lights outside so you can see the whole thing. I think that Iluminations are at 9 pm...so that time should be ok. You'll love it. We certainly loved the view from there!:)

Be aware that while you may ask for a table on the patio, it is not guaranteed. And you can't wait for a patio table anymore. You have to take the table you get when you are called, so it's pretty much a crap shoot as to whether you will be able to get a table to see Illuminations or not.

Too many people kept asking for the outside tables and wanting to wait and consequently fewer people probably got served.

If you go, just be prepared that you may not get an outside table.

As Zulaya pointed out, getting a patio table is a crapshoot, but don't let that deter you! 7:30 is the perfect time for a PS, and we have made PS for that exact time in the past. I would show up about 15 minutes before your PS and politely request patio seating. If you get the patio table, you can draw out your dinner (share appetizers, have an entree, and then enjoy dessert) and you should be eating your dessert when Illuminations starts. If you don't get a patio table, just order an entree, and then bail out of the restaurant and you should still have time to stake out another viewing spot. As far as view from the patio, I think most seats are pretty good. Note that the umbrellas on the tables in the lower patio, if you are on the upper patio, will obstruct your view, but the wait staff will lower the umbrella's before Illuminations starts and the views for those in the upper patio are great.

We had a 7:30 ps and it worked out great. We were on the bottom patio and the view was fatanstic - only advice I would give is get there about 45 mins before and let the CM know that you would love them forever if they could seat you in a good spot for viewing illuminations, then head off and do something else for 30 mins and return about 7.15 and remind them - it worked for us we had the best seats in the house!
