ILLUMINATIONS CRUISES-What they are--How to book--FIND ONE TO SHARE

Thinking about doing a wishes cruise. I know you can pay extra for decorations. Do they do anything for anniv. like a happy anniv. banner? Also, it is just me, DH and DS so it would only be 3 of us. That's pretty expensive so is it worth it? If I decided to share the boat would other people feel uncomfortable with the decorations?

My family will be booking (keep the pixie dust coming) the Wishes Birthday cruise with the music piped in on 11/14/07. We have 4 adults that will be attending - three of which will be celebrating their November/December birthdays. I know this is early - but I was wondering if anyone wanted to share the cost which I believe is $275 (I could be wrong though). Anyhow, I know we could add 6 adults or a combination of 8 kids & adults. I checked with Disney and I need to call on August 16th and I am very confident I will get our cruise. If you would like contact me.

Booked the Premium wishes cruise this morning for Sunday, September 9, leaving from the Grand Floridian. There are 3 of us, and we will be celebrating our 26th Anniversary with our 23-year-old daughter. We may be opening up some of the available seats to DISers, not sure yet. PM me if you might be interested.

Abby's Dad,
I am too new a Dis member to PM you I guess. I tried, but got an error msg. I would be very interested! :yay:
Thanks!

How does everyone pay for the cost if sharing? I will hold it with my cc but I don't want to end up paying for it all in case the other people don't show up for whatever reason. (To the people that I am trying to book a shared cruise with please don't take offence it's just alot of money to end being out). We won't have a cell phone because we are from Canada and the minutes would be $$$$.

Just looking for suggestions. Thanks.

I have secured an Illumanations cruise for Sept 5th out of the Yacht Club. We are only 2 adults so let me know if you would like to join us... Adults and families welcome!!

How does everyone pay for the cost if sharing?

If we do open it up, we anticipate dividing the cost by the capacity, that is, in our case, the capacity is 10, cost with taxes $275 + $25 to $30 tip for the driver, so let's say $300/10, or $30 per person. We are basically planning for just the three of us, but may open to others, but not financially planning on it. We will probably also be having desert and something to eat from the Grand Floridian (burgers, sandwiches, something like that). If those coming aboard want to participate in that, I guess that would be a consideration also, but at the least, there will be the snacks and drinks already provided.

Have sent you a PM with my e-mail address, Andrea.

Thanks for your interest, and now back to:laundy:

The Last time I arranged one we did what Abby's dad was saying... I took the total cost... Which included a cake and soda and divided it up by the total on board so if there were only 8 of us that was what the cost was. I was ok with people paying me when they arrived... guess i am just trustworthy like that

I figured that would be the easiest way to do this. I am just nervous over being caught with the cost. Well I guess live and learn. I just found a US minutes package for my cell so at least I will have a way for anyone to contact me and vice versa. One of the worries I had is that everyone would cancel and try to get hold of me but I would get the message to late.

I am just nervous over being caught with the cost.

I wrestled with that, especially after seeing someone here get burned by some people that committed and then never showed up, called, nothing. I don't want to get caught up in having them pay in advance, then cancel and have to refund, or whatever. I just want to take the cruise and have a magical evening. If there are some DISers that we are compatible with that end up sharing some of the expense, great, otherwise we made the ressie assuming that we would be paying the whole thing - less stressful, and I can hardly wait til my wife finds out. I think that will make the whole price worthwhile!

I agree, with the pay in advance...too much trouble, and also I think looking at it from someone elses point of view what assurances do they have about me. Although, I know I wouldn't cheat anyone how do they know that?!

I will just book, and get the US package for my cell. Give my ph# and hope to hear 24hrs in advance if they want to cancel....besides there are more good people than bad.

besides there are more good people than bad

And you know, we all to often forget that. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that the reason the stories about bad people and bad things make the news is that they are still the exception, and not the rule.

Thanks for the reminder!

We just booked a trip for 9/16-9/21. Anyone looking to share a cruise that week, please let me know. 4 of us, myself, DH, DS 15, DD 10.

(New here, let me know if I'm not doing this correctly) :)

We will be there from Sept 22 to Oct 5th. We are two adults and 15 year old girl. If you have space will would love to join you.

No problem, we do tend to forget that. In my job 90% of what I deal with is (how do I put this politely??)...the not so good side of humanity. I really don't watch or read the news because somtimes your faith can slip a little.

I'm looking to share a cruise for any day between 16th to the 23rd of August. Ideally the 17th (my b-day), 20th or 23rd as those are the days we'll be in Epcot. It is just my husband and me, anyone have any room for two more? ::crosses fingers:::goodvibes

I have a cruise booked for 9/3. :cool1: I am told even though they are not having wishes that night (due to pirates and princess party) they will still be a fireworks cruise for the Magic Kingdom. I assume this will be the fireworks for the pirates and princess party. the boat leaves the poly. It will be me and my dh and will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary (which is 9/3) . Willing to share cruise with two more couples or a family of 4 or 5. Will split the cost per head. PM if interested.
