ILLUMINATIONS CRUISES-What they are--How to book--FIND ONE TO SHARE

Is there a thread for May cruises yet? The first post on this thread only had links to the monthly cruise threads through April.

Crazy Hakim I have a very different opinion of the cruise. I don't believe it is worth the $250 especially in the slow season. You can find lots of better views for free without staking out a spot hours before. I am sure others agree with me as well. I know the 9 people on our boat all agreed.

I can say I really enjoyed the Illuminations cruise, however last March the cost was $125.00 and when I called this year I learned that it was $250.00. Even though I booked the cruise we cancelled. I can justify that much of an increase.

I have a resie for 9 May on the Illuminations cruise Pontoon boat.

UPDATE: Lovely family of 3 joining us - now we have space for 3 more people - would LOVE to share with more fellow DISers!

Our current group consist of 5 adults, one 4 yr old and one 1 year old. (obviously, children are welcome ;) )

(No smoking policy applies while on board.)

...for a place for 2 adults on an Illuminations Cruise during the week of April 15th.Anyone with space for 2 well-behaved adults celebrating their 28th anniversary April 17th? :cloud9:

I have Birnbaum's 2007 book and the rates are 150.00. IS the wrong? I read a thread were is was 200.00. I also so the info about the 3 tiers of cruises and the pontoon boats start at 200.00 plus tax.

Can anyone inform me? :listen: I was thinking about doing this in Dec. Since we have never seen Illuninations in the 10+ visits we ahve made. pirate:

Thanks for your help. :wave2:

Thanks for the info Crazy Hakim! I didn't think to check Deb's site.

I made my reservations this morning for a specialty cruise in May with no problems whatsoever! Many, many thanks to the original poster for such wonderful advice and directions!

I don't see any posts if any one has a cruise to share for the week may 15-may 17th for 2 adults we would love to sahre.

Thank you

I think there should be a May Illuminations thread with a link in the 1st post of this thread. Can someone do that? :confused3

what about June? can you book yet? can you start the June thread too if able to book. princess:

What time do you load up and leave for any of the fireworks cruises?? I'm thinking of getting the Grand 1 for after our wedding. Our reception won't be over until 8:30, Wishes that night is at 10...so I'm wondering how the timing would work out. Sorry if this should not be posted here, hoping to get a generic answer. I would create my own thread, but don't want hubby to be to see. Thanks!

Are they still saying there's no such thing as Illuminations cruise when you call? I'm thinking about booking a Wishes cruise for August and want to know how they're handling it all now.

Cheers!

I am almost positve that the Grand 1 is rented on a per hour basis, and they will leave as early and stay out as late as your wallet will allow.
Here is what Deb's Site says:

VIP Cruises are available on the Grand1, a 45-foot Sea Ray 450 Express Bridge yacht, offering private dining, butler service, and a captain. Cruises are for 1-13 people, starting at $375.58 per hour, with a one-hour minimum. Call 407-824-2682 for information/reservations. 48-hour cancellation notice required or you will be charged in full.

Also, here is a link to a RADP Party that we had a few years ago....

When I got a live person, I said, "I'd like to make a reservation for a Specialty Cruise." The very nice person on the other end said, "OK, would you like to see Illuminations on that cruise?"

It was very simple. The only (slight) confusion was when she assumed I wanted a pontoon boat, and I had to stop her speech about pontoons and tell her that I wanted The Breathless.

Best Wishes with your reservation!

What's the biggest diff. b/n the 2 fireworks cruises? which do you like better?

The server has been so busy for days that I cannot search past posts on the subject!
