ILLUMINATIONS CRUISES-What they are--How to book--FIND ONE TO SHARE

Don't be surprised if unforseen circumstances keep some people from making the cruise (we lost 5 people on one cruise and 3 on the other). If you find you have space or if you're still looking for a cruise, check with the marina (Yacht Club or the MK resorts). It can't hurt to try. Also don't forget to check DIS. And if you're the one who booked the cruise, might be a good idea to keep the names/contact info for any other people who were interested in your cruise.

Good idea, Cyn. I'm worried about that, too, although my fellow "cruisers" assure me they will all be there.

Illuminations cruises are a fun and special way to view the Illuminations fireworks at Epcot. These cruises are very popular and require some advance planning in order to get a reservation.

You will tour seven seas lagoon prior to the beginning of Illuminations and be entertained, by your boat's pilot, with Disney trivia and views of the Boardwalk and other resorts, then you anchor beneath a bridge for an unobstructed view of the fireworks. One of the things we enjoyed the most about our Illuminations cruise was being able to just get off the boat and go to our car without fighting the huge crowd that was leaving Epcot afterwards......

"...tour seven seas lagoon"...That should be interesting since Seven Seas Lagoon is the lake in front of the Magic Kingdom...

How do they get the boat from EPCOT to the MK for the tour of Seven Seas Lagoon???

Hello there. My husband and I just decided to go on a last minute trip to Disney 10/24-10/27 to celebrate our anniversary and take one last trip before we have our first baby in January. Any chances that anyoen has room for the two of us to help defray the cost a little? Let me know!!! Thanks!

Does anyone have any pictures of the "Beathless"?? Have you gone on it?? Is it nice??? I just reserved it for us for December 18! Sheesh, it was like doing battle to get it reserved :rotfl2:

Go to number 2071 on this thread and you will find great pictures of the Breathless II (scroll down for more):) #2071 is on page 139 above

In this one, you can see the back of the boat and the last row of seating (behind the engine). It would be romantic to sit back here, but you cannot interact with the driver or get snacks from this spot. popcorn::

Here you can see the whole boat. They claim you can get 2 people PLUS the driver up front, 3 in the middle and 2 in the back. I think it would be a tight squeeze to get 2 people with the driver. We had my dh sit next to driver Aaron and then myself and our 2 dd's (ages 15 & 11) sit in the middle seat. No one sat in the back on our ride.

Hey there...I have a cruise on the breathless II in october and am interested in the seating. There are two couples so far and I am trying to decide if i want to open it up and invite others....but the seating seems weird.

If we had 3 couples, one of the couples I am thinking would be split 2 people in the back, 3 on the middle seat and one by the driver right???

Can three adults fit in the middle seat easily do you think?

what is your opinion on optimal seating?

Thanks.

Also do you get to ride around in the boat a little bit before Illuminations.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. We have been in CA (yes, visited Disneyland).

If one of the couples is willing to split up, you could do it. We had myself, dd15 and dd11 in the middle seat and we were very comfortable, so 3 adults would fit fine there. I would say only 1 adult would comfortably fit with the driver and you could get another couple in the back, but you wouldn't be able to talk to them or share snacks.

Yes, we did ride around a bit before Illuminations. We "zoomed" fast for a little while (I thought it would be longer) and then we just went slow to see the sites of MGM and the area hotels.

Hello,

I know this is late, but does anyone have room for 2 on a cruise anytime during September 28-30th - (2 Adults). We have never done the cruise thing!

Thank you!:)
Dawn

I didn't know about these. How cool!
I'd be looking for Nov. 13, 14, or 15 for 2 adults and a (very well-behaved and struck silent by fireworks) 2.5 yr old.

Any help?

HI:wizard:

Has any one taken the Wishes cruise:boat: from the Contemporary? I am doing this as a surprise for my SO:love: on his birthday in Nov. What I would like to know is .... do the cruise boats dock near the ones that go over to FT Wilderness--we have it planned for my little nephew to say LOOOOK someone has a Birthday boat:cake: --as we WALK right by it  -----and then we will say SURPRISE!!!party: But if it is no where near it--NEW PLANS will have to be made:idea:

Thanks so much for any info:thanks:

Well, I hope your first typo was Sept 7th which was over 3 weeks ago.
Since you most likely mean Oct 7th.......
Easiest way is to walk thru the International Gateway (between UK and France) and walk to Bayside marina, just past the Yacht & Beach Club.
The Friendship Boat at Epcot would take longer and its a short walk.
Once you leave Epcot, go straight past the Yacht & Beach Club, past the Lighthouse Dock, and just look to the left for a small, free-standing building marked as "Bayside Marina"
Don't get there much before 8pm. At 8pm, the window will open where you check in and finalize payment on your cruise, you will meet your driver and you will most likely depart between 8:15 and 8:30

OH, if you have a car parked at Epcot, the driver can drop you off at the Epcot International Gateway Dock after IllumiNations, if you are taking Disney Transportation, you can request being dropped off at MGM Studios to catch a bus.

Hello,

The Wishes cruises all dock to the left as you walk out towards the transportation boat docks. They are the same slips as the rental boats. Depending on where your cruise boat originates from, you may or may not see the decorated boat as you walk by. The CR only provides one boat per night, although other resorts send boats over for cruise pickups. The CR boat is usally docked on the left side as the dock extends, while the other resort boats fill in any open slips, and could be up close or all the way at the end of the rental dock, depending on space. Hopefully this makes sense.

Have fun,

Bill
