I read somewhere that there's a "maximum" of 10 or 11, but that number can increase to around 12 if you have a children... We'll have 7 children and 6 adults. With that many children, will they let 13 of us board?

We have squeezed 4 adults and 8 kids but depending on the ages of the kids maybe they would squeeze one more...I'd call and ask directly at community hall boardwalk or the marina at the YC/BC which is where the boats leave from..

When I looked up the info. the Pontoon Boats hold "10 comfortably, up to 12), so I guess you'll just have to ask.

They will book a total of 12 guests on the boat with no more than 10 being adults. It really doesn't have anything to do with squeezing more guest on board. It is what the boats are rated to hold. The coast guard rates a boat for max number of bodies, as well as, max weight, so you couldn't put 20 kids on the boat just because they weigh have as much as 10 adults.

Back in 2000 I had a family reunion and had a whole lot of folks there at Disney. They would only allow 12 people on the boat and it couldn't be all adults because of the weight thing so for 2 nights in a row, we had 4 adults on the boat and 8 kids. Some of my brothers and sisters didn't want to go but the kids did so we loaded up. What a great 9 days that was.
