Illuminations Cruise Central--DECEMBER

I have a cruise booked for me by the AKL Concierge on 12/18. I may have some spaces but not sure yet. They have said it is a 8pm but I asked to see the illuminiations. Should I still call the 407-WDW-PLAY to make sure that we have is scheduled for the illuminations ?

I am just wondering when you share a cruise how is the payment part of it handled? Im not an untrusting person just cautious(sp??) Should I get anything before paying or just hope and pray everthing is on the up and up??

I think most people on these boards will simply meet at the dock and settle the finances there. The booking party should be willing and able to make the full payment for themselves, since I have heard a few stories about no-shows. But for the most part, we're very trusting...but I wouldn't do this if sharing the cruise was essential to booking it. I have an arrangement to meet the people I'm sharing with at the dock 15 minutes early, and if they decide not to show, it's too bad for us. Maybe someone else standing at the dock will want to join us, in that case....

If you have booked the 8 pm specialty cruise, leaving out of the Y&BC Marina, then they will arrange it so you will see Illuminations. Call them back 2 weeks before the cruise to get the final meeting time. This allows them to check the final official schedule for fireworks times, and leave the dock accordingly.

We have shared Illuminations cruises twice. Both times we were asked to mail a check to the family that made the reservation to hold our spot. I had no problem with this and everything worked out fine. We tipped the cruise driver on our own.

It's probably a smart move to ensure the good faith of the interested party.

sorry if this is off topic but someone please explain what a pontoon boat is? I'm trying to plan and don't know what the different kids of boats are. Once I finalize my plans I'll try to reserve one of these cruises
all some of us DISers our there.

It's a flat bottom boat, usually with a canopy ... the pontoons are hollow tubes that run the length of the boat (these are what keeps it afloat.) They run these with an outboard motor.
