As I'm new to these boards, I figured it's about time some of my Disney obsessions come out- one main one is fireworks!! I seriously can't get enough of them, and my total favourite is Wishes! My DF thinks my obsession is crazy, but let's me watch them literally all holiday- so Im mega lucky! Lol :)
with this in mind, and please don't judge- has anyone ever watched both fireworks displays on their wedding? My DF can't quite believe my latest idea, but is there anyway (obv depending on Illuminations being at 9pm and Wishes at 10pm) that you could do both??? Reason being we are thinking escape wedding, meal at blue zoo which is close to illuminations - DP at epcot then leg it over to MK in time for Wishes?
Crazy right?! Or maybe do-able??......... :goodvibes

Congrats!

If you and your hubby Are talking about the two of you hoofing it from one show to the next I'm sure it's possible but if you re thinking dessert party/wedding attire/guests I think it is less possible although I the budget had no limit I'm sure DFTW could make it happen! What kind of viewing experience and for how many?

Hi! Thanks for the congrats! :) Its kinda funny, my DF and I have been living together for years and have done all this backwards! Anyway, we picked out an engagement ring 3 weeks ago and it just came in- so funny, he has picked it up from the store yesterday but wants to officially propose to me- so he is making me wait for the ring even though we have sent out our save the dates! Lol! Men hey?! :)
guest wise 18/19 adults and one 3 year old. Money is an object hence is going with escape, so I can't have a massive budget- I'm trying to be sensible which is difficult!! Do you think it would be rude to leg it over to Magic Kingdom for the fireworks and maybe get our guests to meet us somewhere for dancing? Speaking of which, should it still be busy in the ADH last week of August? It's just I have been there normally in sept and it's always pretty dead? Shame really as I love it there!!

I think it would be difficult for such a large group to make it to both in one evening unless they were all extremely motivated and full of red bull! But you could attempt it. Again, as long as you aren't planning to do this in your weddi g dress, your group can do whatever they like! As far as wedding "etiquette" goes, I think as long as you are politely clear to your guests about needing park hoppers and whatever else your "no host" event would entail, you are fine! ADH would be great gor s group outing - honestly DOnt know how busy they would be. August is supposed to be quieter at the end of the month but I'm not sure how busy that still would be!!

I'd say that it really depends on what time of the year your wedding is. During the summer, spring, and Christmas time, it can take over 30 minutes to get from World Showcase Lagoon (I'm assuming you'd stop in WS to watch Illuminations) to exit out of the front gates. Since it's about a 20-minute show that begins at 9:00, you could be left with just 10 minutes to get to MK (it takes about that long on the monorail). And of course, once you get to MK, you'll have to fight crowds to get a decent spot to view the fireworks. That's really pushing it on time.

Of course, you could always take the back entrance from Epcot (could still take 20 minutes to get out) and sprint to the Boardwalk, and attempt to take a bus from the Boardwalk Resort to MK. Of course, they usually quit taking people to MK around 9:30-45, and you'd really be relying on the bus system to work in your favor.

My suggestion is to not actually go to MK. You can view Wishes from the Transportation and Ticket Center with full audio, and there is a great view of the castle. This would also save your guests from having to purchase park hoppers.

Your most reliable option would be to hire a van or bus to take your party from the Boardwalk Resort to TTC for Wishes. If you don't want to spend the money, you could also fight the crowds to the front exit of Epcot and take the monorail to TTC (in that case, I'd also recommend finding an IllumiNations viewing spot near Future World). Instead of transferring to the express monorail to MK, you could just find a good fireworks viewing location at TTC - much less stressful!

Hi sweetie
I assume, if you are having an Epcot DP, that you may enter backstage via planned transport. If so, I would investigate the cost of having the transport (whatever it may be, buses, towncars etc), come back to the backstage area to collect you and your guests after your DP. Then, you could have the transport drop you off at either the GF or the Poly, and watch 'Wishes' from the Marina or the Beach. It would be a rush but may be do-able with transport arranged and waiting!!! That way you could stay in your dress too!!!:thumbsup2
What part of Wales are you in? My son went to Aberystwyth Uni and loved it!!!
