OK! I have made a PS for Rose & Crown for Thursday, April 28 at 7:50PM in hopes of getting a seat by the water to watch Illuminations after we dinner. Does anyone have any tips or advice they can give me about how to obtain a seat by the water to watch the show. I know I need to request a seat by the water when checking-in at the podium, but are there any other tips that might help me? Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
ADP :goodvibes

Just ask nicely when you check in. Sometimes we've been allowed to wait and other times we've been told that we have to take whatever comes up next. With very few Illumination view patio seats available, it really is just luck of the draw.

Arrive early. Now I'll let you in on my A+ #1 top secret tip..........

come closer........

(checking over sholder) Closer..............

Ok. After checking in, early (before 7:30 I'd say), look to the left behind the wall at the uncovered patio. That is open seating. It looks like its part of R&C but its not. We always find it empty. We snag the best table to wait at. If we dont get a better table at R&C, we stay put and DH makes a run for counter service. We eat and enjoy the view.

I won't tell, I promise. ;) ;) Thanks for the tip :p

We got stuck in the dining room, our first time trying. I must have looked extremely sad :guilty: :guilty: A table outside opened up at about 8:40 pm, and our server let us sit out there, and ejoy dessert. :mickeybar It was a perfect first night at WDW

Good luck! 7:50 has worked for us everytime. If you are nice to the CMs, it couldn't hurt. One night I was wearing a Guiness sweatshirt when we checked in at the podium. Curiously, that seemed to make a good impression there in the UK pavilion. ;)

I agree with Stacy.
I tried this once, on New Years Day. (8 p.m. -- and the timing was BAD.)

I would forget R&C, unless you just want to eat there anyway.
Not worth the stress and possibility the timing will be bad. People get the few really good seats and camp out there. Timing is everything.

The night we ate at R&C, DH ate a shepherd pie type sampler. (3 mini pies)
Last night we ate dinner at Cheesecake Factory at Millenia Mall.
DH ate their shepherd's pie. He commented their's easily beat out R&C.

The food was good. But nothing that overwhelmed us.
