Illuminations and resturants

Hey all,

I seem to remember last october my parents and I were lucky enough to get an outside table at Rose and Crown so that we could see illuminations. While we were eating just beore the show started they brought all the diners inside out to a reserved seating area so they could see the show then go back inside to finish their dinners. I also recall over hearing an explanation of this as a server was setaing a family that passed by us. In light of this I have 2 questions for my trip this comming october.

1) was I compleatly spaced out imagining this was going on or do they really have a reserved seating area for the inside diners?

-and-

2) If Rose and Crown does this do any of the other resturants in the World Showcase do this? We are thinking about dining at the San Angel Inn and trying to figure out what time to get the ADR for.

We are planning on dinning outside to view Illuminations from the R&C on our next visit. When everyone comes outside does it get crazy? Are there people hovering over your table, or does everyone have a seat? We always prefer outside dinning anyway, but I don't want to have everyone taking over my personal space while I'm eating.

San Angel Inn doesn't seem to have a special Illuminations-viewing spot for its guests. Probably because the Cantina is right on the lake, and the lakeside tables are already full of guests.

I am curious to see if other WS restaurants have designated viewing areas too, since MExico is my only personal knowledge, lol.

We always make our ADR's for about 7:30, get there a little early and ask for an outside table. You cannot make an ADR for an outside table. About 8:55 all of the diners inside and the ones outside are joined together for Illuminations. By 8:55 most of the outside diners are done with at least their main course. There is room but not a lot of room. Not sure if this answers your question or not.

I don't believe there are any other restaurants that have special viewing areas for their diners.

People can not order special seating at the R&C you just get lucky. We have heard that other eating places like Mexico or Japan people sit on their steps to watch the fireworks. It does get so crowed.

What about Chef De France?... Are there window seats or something where the fireworks can be seen?... Isn't there outdoor tables there too?...

You can see some of the higher fireworks through the trees, but you cannot see the main show through the bodies of the people outside the restaurant watching the show.
