DH are heading to BWV for our first stay Jan 10 - 16 without the kids!!. We did MK, MGM and Epcot last year with the kids but this trip we've decided (as of now) not to do any WDW parks and explore Universal Studios and other parts of Orlando instead.

My question to you is, can you see these shows from BW? I've read several posts that talk about the view from your rooms but is there somewhere else you can actually go to get a good view without going into the park(s)?

 I am SO ready to go!

You can see the higher fireworks from both shows from some of the villas at BWV. For Illuminations fireworks standard view villas and boardwalk view villas have the best views. The standard view villas that are about 1/2 down the building have the best views and all the boardwalk view villas have a pretty good view. For Fantasmic fireworks viewing the villas closest to the tennis courts have the best view. You can hear the music from both shows from many of the BWV balconys. You will love staying at BWV, it is an incredible resort.

When I watched Fantasmic from our bedroom balcony at BWV facing the tennis court last week, I could hear the backstage announcements! The cast side of the theater must face that way. They made an announcement - cast five minutes to show and then I heard them make an announcement that one one of the barges was down so the other two would go in a different order. I could hear the music from the show and then the fireworks at the end. We could see the Illuminations fireworks from the other balcony & hear the music. If you have never seen either of these shows, I would recommend seeing them in the park, you don't get the full show from the resort.

Here is a link with some room reports. Some of the view comments or general comments say that had a view of the shows. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/boardwalk.pdf Asking for a specific room and getting it are slim but this may help you know if the room assigned at check-in will meet your needs. This will give you an idea of “sectional views”.
The files are in adobe acrobat and which can be downloaded from this site for free:

Good luck
