We enjoyed an illum. cruise last year and were picked up at the Y&BC Marina. I just called and confirmed my p/u time for this Friday nt and they told me it was on the Boardwalk near Community Hall that we get picked up. Does anyone know for sure if this is true? Where exactly is Community Hall? Thanks for any clarification that can be offered.

When I went on an Illuminations cruise last month, our pick up was at the Yacht Club. When I talked to some of the drivers about the cruises, they mentioned that there were a couple of boats leaving from the Boardwalk as well, so the pick-up area you were told is most likely correct.

The boat will pick you up at the end of the boat dock. At least that's where ours picked us up in Dec. 2001. And by the way, our reservation was for the Yacht Club marina but my daughter called and asked if we could be picked up at the Boardwalk as that was where we were staying. No problem.

Here's a link to a map of the Boardwalk area that will help orient you:

When we arranged to be picked up at the Boardwalk for our Illuminations Cruises, the boat left from the same dock that the EPCOT/MGM Friendship boats use (Y on the map). That is a different location than the docking area near the Community Hall (V on the map).

It is very possible that the pick up location for the BW has changed. My advice is to call the day/night before from your hotel and confirm the pick up location.

Enjoy the cruise!

As far as I know there is no docking area near community hall at Boardwalk. You probably should double check on that.
Community Hall is on the backside of the Villas near the quiet pool, not near the dock.

It's not all that obvious, but there is a gate in the fence along the canal near Community Hall and we have noticed pontoon boats (probably for the fishing excursions) tied up there during the day. I also think the OP should verify the pick up location, but it is very possible to get picked up near Community Hall and it certainly is a less busy spot than the main BW dock.

Thanks everyone we just arrived tonight. I'll call in the am to confirm.

You know Carol now that I think of it I remember a pontoon boat being docked by Community Hall.
There was a CM cleaning it at the time, I didn't see anyone else there, but I guess that makes sense that they could pick people up there also.

When we there for Christmas there were two pontoons near the Community Hall.
One had Christmas decorations all over it, even a little Christmas tree.
I thought maybe it was for Jeb and family! :p

Well we enjoyed our cruise last night, when we arrived at the boardwalk we walked all the way down to community hall with my dad pushing my mom in a wheelchair.......IT WAS THE WRONG LOCATION!!!!!

I was so angry because I even called and confirmed in the a.m. and they told me it was right. We had to go all the way back to the boat launch on the boardwalk, luckily someone from the hall paged Jeff our captain and told him we were late so he waited.

Jeff said they have had several people going to the Hall instead and wanted to know where they heard this from...they were blaming it on a poor bell hop!!!

Oh well, we are in wdw and had the most magical day topped off with a beautiful cruise...Jeff was amazing.

Just a note only one pontoon leaves from the Boardwalk driven by Jeff and it is always from the boat launch area(same one used for epcot/mgm.
