If someone vomits in a public setting on the ship, does anyone know what the protocol should be for that?

I know often times guests end up quarantined in their room for illness.

Usually theyll be asked a series of questions to determine if it's say sea sick or something else and they go from there. If theres a possibility it might be norovirus or something spreadable then theyll most likely be quarantined. for a certain length of time.

The ship’s doctor will do an assessment. My husband was quarantined because he had noro as was confirmed by other symptoms—fever chills diarrhea etc. It was not just automatic, they did have him see the doctor to make a diagnosis. I expect if they determine it is something else—e.g. sea sickness, known reaction to a medication. morning sickness or inebriation—you’d be released.

I called when my son threw up (in our room) they acted like they didn't know why I was calling when I said I was just notifying them and forwarded me to a nurse. They asked us to come to the medical center, I assumed for an evaluation because they track things like that (or I thought they did). I was not requesting medical attention and am a nurse practitioner so I didn't need him to be evaluated I was just trying to do the right thing by letting them know. Long story short they were billing me for going to the medical center. I complained to guest services and they took the charge off. They didn't give us any restrictions for him. I do not think if someone throws up in a public space they would be quarantined but I do not know if they have some official policy.

My DD (around 11) threw up right before the end of the safety drill. We notified the crew and it was cleaned up. Nothing else happened. Between the excitement and the heat, it just got too much for her.

ODS got sick in a dining room once on our first evening, not long after we set sail. He otherwise acted fine, and is prone to getting sea sick or eating too fast and making himself sick. The CM in the dining room covered everything and they cleaned it quickly. She made a sympathetic comment about being seasick.

He seemed fine otherwise and no one questioned us.

My daughter pushed herself too hard in the CC 5k and ended up vomiting in the sand right in front of a CM. She was taken to the first aid station on shore, assessed, and held there until I could get her <insert another rant about the horrible message Navigator app here>. She was released with no further instructions, quarantine, etc I’m assuming because no fever, chills, or diarrhea and she was feeling much better just with rest.

When they were still doing the Gold and Platinum receptions on 7 night cruises, one of my granddaughters vomited on Captain Mickey who was greeting guests there. The seas were rough that day and it was just sea sickness (several other family members traveling with us were also a bit under the weather) and nothing further was done.

Oh no! On Mickey?!?

This is kind of what I thought would happen.

Unfortunately the vomiting we witnessed was when a kid vomited all over my DH (literally from head to toe, hat to shoes) and when he reported it, they just kind of stared at him blankly like they didn't know why he was bothering them.

I thought it was kind of strange.

Our 3 year old was sick one night on the Fantasy inside the stateroom. When we called to notify them of the mess, they had it all cleaned up and had us go to the medical center first thing in the morning.

He had a bit of a stomach issue through the night, but was feeling mostly better, but we still went. Doctor evaluated him, suggested she didn't think it was anything serious like Noro, but that he would be quarantined until 24 hours after the last episode. So we spent an at sea day in the stateroom and had to cancel our Disney excursion for the following morning as it left before the 24 hours would have been over.

A happy ending in multiple ways though.

1. We found out he is lactose intolerant and the stomach issues were a direct result of overdoing it on Mickey Bars and the soft serve.
2. The non-Disney excursion we did in place of the one we missed was awesome.
3. Disney covered any food ordered via room service, not just the typical menu. We got him 7Up or something similar to calm his stomach which I know we'd have otherwise paid for.
4. Disney covered any clothes we wanted to send out to be cleaned, critical as he had gone through a few sets of PJs.

It is but it's not. The main issue I can see is that its after the fact and finding who did it would be relatively hard. But at the same time they could be a little more receptive to someone reporting this. I'm guessing customer service isn't there strong point
