Illm. Cruise bad luck/pity party for me!

Gosh, I haven't posted on this board in ages! Hi, everyone!

But I'm sitting here this morning having a little pity party for myself over my stroke of bad luck. Here's my tale of woe: DH and I are taking DS (14 months) to WDW Dec 8-12. This is a trip we decided to take last minute (even though money is tight) since this has been such an emotionally hard year for us. (Among other things, my mother is going through a particularly bad battle with breast cancer that has spread to her bones.)

So, no real hope of getting an Illuminations Cruise, but I posted a request to the December cruise thread on the TP board and waited. Nothing. Nada. We went to my in-laws for Thanksgiving where I didn't have internet access and returned late Sunday night. I didn't bother getting online since it was late and figured I'd "catch up" on the boards on Monday at work. (don't tell)

WELL...our internet service was down! I didn't think much of it and got home last night, ate & fed DS, got him to bed and got on line, did e-mail, uploaded digital pictures from the weekend, and then finally got around to checking the TP board. There was a post made that morning that someone was canceling their 12/9 cruise!!! ARGGGGHHHHHHH!

Of course, I tried calling this morning with no luck. It's already re-booked. This is silly because, before this happened, I wasn't upset at all about not doing a cruise. But now that I might have had the opportunity, I'm really disappointed!

Oh well, thanks for reading...I'm going to go lick my wounds, lol. Hey, at least I'm going to WDW, right?

I've been reading the illum. board since I also posted on it. I felt so bad when I saw yours was going to be cancelled.
I was lucky enough to get one for dec 16th. Did you go back thru all the posts to see if anyone else has room? I would also keep checking just in case the person who booked it posts on the illum. board. Also keep checking your email and pm, you never know.

Sorry Tara I know how disappointed you are. Back for our Sept trip we were trying to get a cruise also. I found a post that a family wanted to share their cruise. I was the first to e-mail them back so we were in. Well fast forward to the night of our cruise and it was pouring rain. Really heavy bad rain. The captain was nice enough to give us our money back and not make us take the cruise. And yes they still go out, another boat left right before he let us cancel ours. I just couldnt go out in that kind of rain with 2 babies.
