HI from Algonquin! I'm originally from Springfield (The Patch) and went to UofI, C-U. I-L-L!!!!

We are recent joiners to DVC and have 300pts at AKV, however we have yet to lay eyes on the place! Just got back from 2 weeks at BWV/BCV. It was absolutely heavenly!

Hello all,
we bought 250 points at AKV in May 2007. We are going on a disney cruise on 3-22-08 using the points we earned for 2007 and adding the points from 2008. We are excited to here that there are some folks here in Illinois that are DVC members. Everyone that we have spoke to locally have no clue what DVC was (we did not either until 2001 on our first trip to wdw). We love disney so much but DH is a workaholic and we have only vaca'd 3 times in our 13 years together (1 of those was our hineymoon)!!! The DVC forces DH (who also hates wasting money) to take a vacation at least bi-annually-although ds and I are hoping for annually.

I know exactly...okay pretty darn sure where you are!

My Dsis lives in Troy and all of her husband's family is from Edwardsville. Matter of fact, I think we have to drive through Moro to get to one of his nephew's house. That nephew's wife is from a pretty well known family...her grandpa was Senator Sam...can't spell the last name right.

I'm down by SIU-C...actually in Herrin, only 10 miles away.

Have a great time on your cruise! We did the 7 night western back in 2004 and that is when we bought DVC. We own at SSR, but are staying at AKV next week. Our DS is marching on the 13th before the afternoon parade at MK. He's traveling & staying with the marching band and we aren't. I am sure he'll have a better time that way and so will we.

Wow! My mom used to live in Moro! Right near Alton & Bethalto, isn't it? My sister has lived in Edwardsville (went to SIUE), then Collinsville and now moved to Mt. Olive to be closer to where she teaches. I was born in Pocahontas, (well, Highland is where the hospital is) but I don't imagine anyone knows where that is! I live in Geneseo now, up near Moline.

Yep, you're right. More south central Illinois really. Poky is right on I-70. I still have family that live there.
I forgot about what's her name...the singer. My cousin and her uncle are friends. I don't know any of them though.

And I agree...Moro is more central Illinois...or if you're from the St. Louis area they'd say the Metro East area.

Hey...iloveokw...near the Cape? You mean near Cape Giraradeau, MO? That is about an hour away from me...maybe 90 minutes.
