I've been trying to post a thread for the last 30 minutes and I keep getting duplcate post messages! ARGH!
Anyway, I wanted to ask you guys to send some spare pixie dust DD's way. Tomorrow is a big day for her. I can't give any details other than to say it is nothing bad, and we are driving to Miami. When I am able, I will post details.
Please send her some positive vibes!!
Thanks!
UPDATE.....
Well, we drove to Miami Beach early Saturday. DD had an audition for a movie. Her agent had said they were looking to cast a boy and a girl, both around 13 to 15. Since DD tends to look younger, her agent thought this would be a good fit. We were excited because this movie will star Joe Pantilino and Marsha Gay Hardin.
When we got to the audition, DD was the oldest kid there. Most of the kids auditioning looked to be about 10 to 12. The boys were very young looking. This may not work out well for DD. She can easily look 15, but she can't look 12. The boy and girl are supposed to like each other, so they have to be about the same age.
On the bright side, we didn't get lost going down. DD got to see her first cruise ship and the ocean.
We did get caught in a big storm heading home and took a wrong exit. Instead of being on the Florida Turnpike headed for Orlando, we were on I95 going to Ft. Lauderdale. I managed to get back to the Turnpike, but it was storming like crazy. So, we decided to find a hotel for the night. We checked into the Hard Rock Hotel on the Turnpike. It is a beautiful hotel. Lucky for me, it also has a casino. It is run by the Seminole Indian tribe. After we had a nice dinner, Kendall watched movies in our room while I went to the casino for a couple of hours. I'm glad we got out of Miami when we did. They had a tornado in the area where we had attended the audition. We drove home this morning.
So, if you count the money I spent on gas, tolls ($20 each way), hotel and food (I won't count what I lost at the casino), I managed to spend around $500 on this little venture. I don't hold out much hope of her getting the part, but we had some fun, so it isn't a total loss.
Oh, and I had to wash the car when I got home. We passed through a swarm of lovebugs! YUCK!
