Hello to all you out there in Dis world! This is my first pre trip report, and I want to say how awesome it's been reading everyone else's TRs and PTRs. . . otherwise how would I pass my time between Disney trips? It would be impossible and also depressing. Anyway, I'm Carrie, I'm obsessed with Disney, and I'm going to be back in 20 days!!!!!!! What? I can't believe it! I also can't believe it's going by soooo slowly. So a little bit about me - I just graduated from veterinary school, I'm working as an intern, and my life is super busy right now. The first time that I went to Disney was when I was around 4, and my sister was 1, and my parents took us for a day trip to Disneyland. The one thing I remember the most from that trip was the Main Street Electrical Parade, but It's A Small World also sticks out in my mind! The one thing my mom remembers from that trip is losing our brand new camcorder! At the end of a long day of filming my sister's and my first trip ever to a Disney park, my mom left the camcorder on a bench, and it was no where to be found after that. She still feels soooo horrible about it!

So this year is rough not only because my schedule is really busy, and I'm mostly working emergency, but I'm also apart from my boyfriend, Mark! He is half way across the country this year, staying with his family, and working in the medical field as well. The good thing is that we are saving up money, but the bad thing is that we don’t get to be together. So, what’s the opposite of that? Spending money and being together! What better place to do this than Disney World?! Luckily I have a good chunk of time off in early November. Once I found out that this coincides with the Disney Free Dining Plan, as well as the beginning of the Disney Christmas Decorations, AND the Food and Wine Festival, I decided we couldn't NOT go! I've never seen Disney during Christmas, or F&W, or stayed on site, or had a dining plan, so I think this trip is pretty much going to blow me away! :lovestruc

This is me during our trip in March 2012.

Trip details:
Dates - November 10-16, 2012.
Resort - Pop Century
Dining - Upgraded from the free quick-service plan to the Disney Dining Plan!

We will be flying out of our respective airports, and meeting at MCO. I arrive about 3 hours before Mark, so I'll have tons of time to explore the Disney Store there, and find the Magical Express! Maybe I'll even hop on a bus, just to see how the seats feel. Then maybe I'll even ride it for a bit, just to see. Then maybe I'll get off at the Magic Kingdom, and ride a few rides, then go back to MCO and meet Mark! Haha jk, but it would be super tempting right? I watched the Muppet Movie for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and you know when Amy Adams' character is leaving her school to go on her road trip to California, and she looks so cute in her dress, and she sings "Life's a Happy Song", and she's so excited for the trip in front of her? I want that to be me. I want to dress up, curl my hair, and wear a head band, and heels, then dance & sing as I am leaving for my trip! I'm sure if I call MCO I can have them choreograph something and organize it with their workers for that day.

Reading this makes me excited all over again! Can't wait to hear more about your planning, and most of all about the trip itself! YAY! :teeth:

EIGHTEEN more days!!!!!

I'm so excited!! 8 more days until online check-in. I wonder though, what's the general consensus on online check-in? It seems that some people say you are more likely to get your requests met if you check-in at the desk, but then a lot of people like online check-in because their rooms are more likely to be ready when they get there.

I'm going to post some photos of one of my previous trips. This was back in 2010, when I went with Mark and 2 of my good friends from school, Candace and Connie. This was my first trip to Disney World, and I had the most amazing time ever! That summer was full of traveling, I went to Las Vegas for a bachelorette party, went to India for 6 weeks and traveled all around Southern India, then went up to see the Taj Majal, and then came back one week before the school semester started. That's when we drove down to Disney and had a whirlwind adventure - 4 days (3 days Disney, 1 day at Universal. . . I know, but we had to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, this was the summer that it opened!) This was my first time at Disney World, but it certainly wasn't Connie's! She has been going with her family for her entire life, and they are even DVC members. I would call her a Dis-er, but I can't, because she is a WDW Magic-er. Basically the same thing, though. She showed us around the World the proper way, and we did Disney right! I barely got any sleep that summer!! And you know, it was no problem when I was at Disney. No problem at all. The magic of Disney enveloped me and repelled any hints of sleepiness. Of course, once we got in the car to drive back to the hotel, I was asleep within 2 minutes! Good thing Mark is a good driver and doesn't get sleepy when he drives!

I love this photo. This was right after rope drop, and we were following the characters, as we all walked into the Kingdom, the Magic Kingdom, that is. It was like they had welcomed us to their home, and then we all walked in together. What a cool feeling :) Anyway I like how it looks like Tiana is trying to get a hold of this guy's hand, like she's saying, "Welcome! Let me show you around this magical place."

Amazing.

Back before Mickey's Toontown was gone :( This is inside Minnie's house. I love her mantel.

Can you tell she loves Mickey?

And she also loves cheese :)

Oh Disney, I love your details. What other theme park would have a sign on a post like this, with the edges old and tattered? Maybe they even shipped the paper from Nepal. . .

Aw thanks for the encouragement, and for the congrats! Yes, it is very hard being away from my BF, especially since our schedules are off, so we hardly ever get to talk on the phone. But at least we'll be in Disney soon together! :) Thanks for commenting!!

TWELVE MORE DAYS!!!!

So here I am, typing this and the "Perfect Storm" is supposed to be the worst tonight through tomorrow morning. I was originally supposed to work tonight (overnight shift), but one of my co-workers wanted to switch so she could have a long weekend to visit a friend. The wind is not too bad right now, definitely strong and abnormal, I was just outside taking down some wind chimes and bringing some flower pots inside, and it was definitely a little freaky. A few of my friends had I have been trying to find a day where we are all free to finally hang out together, and about a month ago we had decided on tonight. . . of course it had to coincide with the worst storm night, right? So we decided to postpone until another time :worried: At least the storm will be gone by the time it's time to leave for Disney!

Mark and I arrive at MCO on Saturday, November 10. I'll dance around MCO and sing "When Will My Life Begin", waiting for Mark to arrive, then we'll hop on the Magical Express and head off for Pop! From there, here's an outline of our ADRs, and some highlights of rides/attractions that I am especially excited for! I don't like to plan the day too strictly, most of the fun I have with Disney is just doing whatever you feel like once you are there and in the moment!

Nov 10 (Sat) - Hollywood Studios

  • Animator's studio - I love the animation class, and we will definitely have to try to fit it in today!
  • Tower of Terror - one of my favorite rides of Disney!
  • Dinner - we may try Pizza Planet, I haven't been there before, but if the cheese pizza and caesar salad are anything like Pizzafari, I have to go. Also I just watched Toy Story tonight!!

Nov 11 (Sun) - Magic Kingdom

  • Liberty Tree Tavern ADR - 4:05 - a little early for a dinner ADR, but I think if we eat lunch a little earlier than normal, or just a really big breakfast, this will be perfect, especially since I'm sure we will be stuffed after this dinner!
  • EMH until 1am!!!
  • Snack - Dole Whip, of course!
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Splash Mountain!

Nov 12 (Mon) - Epcot
  • Kouzzina ADR - 8:15am - I thought that starting the morning off at the Boardwalk, having a nice breakfast, and then walking to Epcot would be a great way to start the day!
  • Lunch - Food and Wine Festival! I think we'll just take this opportunity to eat lunch all around the world!
  • Le Chefs de France ADR - 7:10pm - our first time at this restaurant. Actually, all of these ADRs are restaurants that we have never been to! So many firsts with this trip! So excited!! Mark was especially excited about this ADR!
  • Downtown Disney - since Epcot will be closed by 9 tonight, I was thinking it'd be fun to take a bus to Downtown Disney and hang out a bit, do a little shopping, see the Lego Store, get a little treat from Ghirardelli's maybe!

DSCF5180.jpg

Nov 13 (Tues) - Animal Kingdom
  • Expedition Everest
  • Snack - Jalapeno Cream Cheese Pretzel
  • Sanaa ADR - 6:55pm - after AK closes at 5, we'll head over to the Animal Kingdom Kidani Villages and probably explore the gift shops, hang out in the lobby, watch the animals, and wait until our ADR

Nov 14 (Wed) - Magic Kingdom
  • The Plaza ADR - 12:20pm
  • Narcoosee's ADR - 8:55pm - Wishes will be at 8pm tonight, and I was thinking of skipping Wishes tonight to avoid the crowds, and make sure we make our ADR on time. Is there a good place to watch Wishes from the Grand Floridian? If not, then maybe we'll try watching it from the beach of the Polynesian! What do you think?

DSCF5459.jpg

Nov 15 (Thurs) - Hollywood Studios
  • Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater ADR - 12:45pm
  • 50's Prime Time Cafe ADR - 7:35pm
  • Snack - we're planning on making a stop at Starring Rolls for cupcakes!

Nov 16 (Fri) - Epcot
  • Departure day :( :( :( :( Our flights will be separate, but both leave around 6:30pm.
  • However, we'll have to make the most out of this day, and are planning on spending as much of it as possible in Disney! Possible dining options - Fish and Chips in England, Katsura Grill in Japan, or maybe La Cantina in Mexico :)

This is so cool to see your planned out schedule along with your ADRs. I can't wait to see pictures of all the delicious food you guys get to try! The picture of Spaceship Earth made me all warm and fuzzy - I want to go back now please!

While I've never experienced it personally, I've heard that Wishes from the Polynesian beach is great, so if you get a chance to do that I'd love to hear how it is! :)

SEVEN more days!

This time next week I will be in Disney!

Goals of the day: Laundry, pack, and listen to some Disney music.

I also have this presentation due when I come back from Disney. My other goal for this weekend is to work on my power point!

looking at all of our pictures brings back such good memories!

i'm getting really excited because it's less than a week away!

soon enough we'll be at the haunted mansion (halloween always makes me think of the haunted mansion so it's been on my mind lately, disney really knows how to set everything up so that it's above and beyond what you think is possible)

in six more days, i get to be a child full of wonder again! :yay:

I am so excited for you and Mark!! It is going to be a ton of fun and it is right around the river bend! (See what I did there?) Looking at all your ADRs it might seem that all you are planning on doing is eating (not that there is anything wrong with that!) haha. I love reading about your plans and how excited you are - plus I get to re-live all the great memories from our trip to Disney.

Some things I want you to include in your plans: (1) When exiting the space mountain ride, be sure to comment on the fact that the green paint on the wall behind you is functioning as a green screen - "Ooooohhhhhhhhh". (2) Anytime you see him, you must scream out "PRINCE NAVEEEEEN". (3) Try communicating with a small, adorable child in a different language. (4) Keep your air conditioning on during the day. (5) Find a Hidden Mickey or two :)

But whatever you do, don't ride the Dinosaur ride, because it is super scary!
