Outside of Screamin, it was the only thrill ride at the parks. I thought it added to the "Coney Island" feel they were going for at PPier. I for one will miss it.

Walt Disney built Disneyland as statement against Coney Island-type parks. Disney rides are traditionally original - not off-the-shelf carnival rides like Maliboomer. Was it fun? Yes. Did it belong at a Disney park? IMO no, no, no. Walt Disney would never allowed it. The more Disney can transform Paradise Pier away from the cheap carnival atmosphere the more it will succeed. :wizard:

See Disney Lowering the Boom on Maliboomer

I agree :thumbsup2
That was also the only ride in DLR that I did not like at all!
Glad to see it go :)

Yeah, it was fun for a quick thrill with a generally short line but I am happy to see them transforming that area into something Disney worthy. Frankly, I'd like to see them do the same thing in Dinioland USA in Animal Kingdom (Dinosaur is the exception). That whole area is so cheap comared to the rest of AK which is so well themed. Maybe they'll follow suit and lose the carnival atmosphere there too.

I didn't dislike the Maliboomer. I do like the direction that Paradise Pier is going. The Maiboomer doesn't fit with that.

I have never been to DLR - so I don't know about mailboomer - but if that area is anything like Dinoland USA then I agree completely! Dinoland USA just looks plain horrible.

I did not dislike the Maliboomer, I just thought any ride that has a "puke" shield on it isn't for me!:rotfl2:

I can't wait to see the parks finished construction:banana:

I'll miss the Maliboomer too, but I'm also excited to see all the new attractions coming to DCA.
I'm just satisfied that I got to ride it the day before it closed...it was a happy ending :)

@lwilkison, I believe those shields functioned to block out the screams from reaching the nearby residents, but I know what you mean.

You are so right! :)
