My DD2 have been so excited that I just know when I walk through the gates of MK I will cry. Everytime she see's a comercial with the castle in it she screams with excitement about going to Disney. I can picture it now. I will carry her and go onto main street. She will see the castle in real life and freak. I know I will just cry seeing how happy she is and knowing we are finally there. :wizard:

I'm not crazy am I?

Nope! not crazy...

I'll be bawling right along side you. I'm brining kleenex in my backpack.

My DD is going to flip when she sees the castle! :thumbsup2

I don't think you're crazy at all! There's something magical about walking through those gates when you're an adult, and I can just imagine what it's like for a child or for a parent. I'm not a big crier but even I might become misty-eyed.

Oh no, you are not crazy. There is a magical feeling about the MK that brings out the child in all of us, and to experience that joy through the eyes of a child would reduce the brawniest to tears. Now I need kleenex.

I don't cry, but something inside of me gets all emotional when I see the Castle from Main Street. I can only imagine what it's like with little kids. I'll be bawling when I take my kids to WDW (not for a while thoough, so I'll have time to prepare myself! ;) )

Just don't over-romanticize the moment too much, esp. if you plan to be there at park opening. Someone could just as likely ram you in the ankles with their stoller, or push in front of your child or shove your child out of their way, or whatever.

I'll be crying when I see the surprise limo that Mickey will send to take us to the airport (wink, wink)!! I'll probably pass out when we hit the gate of MK. I'm so thankful that I am able to give my girls this dream come true that I was not able to have as a child. There's real good emotions that come from that. I say let it all out. These are precious moments!!!! Have a great trip!

I also have tissues packed, 'cause I know that I will be crying. I AM a crier under normal circumstances and I know that it will be much worse while we're at WDW. My contacts are probably going to drive me crazy the whole trip, but it will be so worth it to see my girls take in all the magic for the first time!

Only 3 more days til our cry-fest begins!

I don't cry. But I do cry at the commercials of WDW.

I could be on the commercial where the kids and parents cant sleep. That was me and DH the last 2 trips. We ended up getting up at 3:00 am because we were so EXCITED....and my kids slept like babies.

the first time we went to wdw in 2003 I was so excited that as soon as we got to MK I burst into tears , from the moment we arrived by boat and got thru the gate and when i met MICKEY for the 1st time I was bawling my eyes out!!! The 1st fireworks show that we saw was at Epcot and that still holds fab memories . everything about wdw is magical and this year will be our 3rd time there and i am so excited . The memories are something that you hold in your heart forever especially thru the eyes of your kids. I hope eveyone has the best time at wdw when they go . pixie dust to everyone.

Good point!! The first time I went I did 'tear' up, it was so overwhelming!! Our 2nd trip, I did get knocked over, did kinda change the mood!! lol

oh, and when I ran into Mary Poppins, I cried!! lol, my first movie at the theatre my grandma took me to see MP, and she thought I hated it, I didnt pay attention, then I started singing every song, and telling every detail!! (I was 3 or 4)

So when I was in Epcot's England store, and there she was!! I grabbed DD (no line for autographs) and everyone knew *I* was more excited... the CM handler took my camera and said "this is your moment" and she gave me time with Mary... very magical... :wizard:

I'm getting a little misty just thinking about it. :cloud9: You never get tired of that view of the castle as you come down mainstreet. :woohoo:

I have been to wdw almost every year and sometime 2x since 94 and i cry everytime. and I have boys, if I had girls oh my goodness it would be 10x worse. It is going to be magical, take your camera and tissues and have a
wonderful time. :wizard:

If you have a camcorder try and have it running aimed at her face (obviously not right on top of her! ZZOOOMMM!!!) the first time she see's it. I have video of my son's first time and it is soooo magical to watch his expression and be able to relive it all the time!!!!

Heck, I cry everytime I walk around that corner by the Emporium!!! Oh and going home and saying goodbye to the castle.....well that's an all out "BAWLFEST"!!!

Have a magical time with your little girl!!!

I bet the moment might even come on the monorail (if you go that way) when she firsts sees the castle from there.

I love to watch first time families (you can tell the ones) on the monorail with little ones - especially girls when they spot the castle for the first time. The awe in their faces is priceless!

I just witnessed the sweetest little girl last Saturday, and she was just so excited... she was the "baby" - maybe three in what appeared to be a blended family of older kids - and they were all doting on her as she saw the castle!

Have a wonderful time!

I am crying now just reading all of the posts about crying. We are all truly blessed! pixiedust:

I am not much of a crier (in Public) but I can understand others feeling that way. Now, I could hardly breathe when we drove under the Welcome Sign. I was just too excited to cry when we saw the castle. But cry away -- you deserve to!

Yes you'll cry - but it's nice crying :sunny:

I still get watery eyed when I remember our trip to DisneyLand Paris when DD, now 13 , was 3. We went for a character breakfast and when Mickey appeared all the older children were round him, hugging and kissing him and DD was just standing there waiting.

Ok, I'm tearful just typing this lol.

Then Mickey puts his hands between the other children, opens his armswide so they get pushed (gently) to either side of him, kneels down and waits for DD to go for a hug. It was SO cute. I can picture it so well.

Aw I feel all fuzzy now pixiedust:

I well up when I see ANYBODY's children hugging the characters - DH just pretends he doesn't notice. He has learnt it's best that was because if he says anything to me it becomes 'blubbing' and embarassing for him :)

Thanks Guys. I knew I wasn't crazy. I knew there were other's like me. I am tearing up thinking about the moment I will have with her. :cloud9:
