Well, it sounds like you guys had some added stress for Thanksgiving. My grandpa is about 85 and has had some similar incidents. Lately, he's been working on his Christmas lights, and we've been scared to death that he's going to try to climb up on the roof himself or something (he won't let anyone help him). It doesn't help matters any that he thinks the entire town should be lit up by HIS christmas lights. If you've ever seen, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, it's pretty much like that. In fact, we were all joking about it last night because he has duct tape to hold all of his plugs into the surge protector!
I need to clean too, but I just can't seem to get myself motivated. I'm going to have to pretty soon though because DD #1's birthday is coming up, and we'll have people over for her party.
I know how you feel. My grandma fell on thanksgiving day years ago and hit her head. She was ok, but had a big egg on her forehead for a couple of days.We just celebrated her 90th birthday two days before thanksgiving.

I must admit, when you were telling about all the running, I thought at least she won't feel guilty for eating all the goodies!
We had a downer of an Easter a few years ago.......my Grandma fell and broke her foot OFF, literally...It broke off!

Aww, what a sad thing to happen to him. He must have fallen. I'm glad someone found him and you were able to get him treatment. I'm glad your car was still there, that could have been disasterous.
I had no idea about your no mall shopping rule. I completely understand why you would avoid it, I'm an early shopper too. I work in retail and I don't have a choice but to deal with cranky, tired, rude (sometimes) people. I'd much rather be around the people who have a jolly holiday spirit.
Oh geez, so sorry about your Thanksgiving. Great news about the realization while you were cleaning though, you are sooooo close! How cool!

YAY for 11 days to go!! I am so excited for you..i have been thinking of our disney christmas trip alot lately..and i would go back at this time of year again in a heartbeat!
i just love it - the characters and the fight between good and evil and the theme that the smallest person can change everything just gets to me. plus orlando bloom as legolas and viggo mortenson as aragorn doesn't hurt.

and I was able to get most of the Christmas deco's up! Thank goodness.....I really was being kind of grumpy this year doing this stuff. Just didn't seem fun but I wanted to get it DONE! I guess we are just going to have to start doing a party or something b/c we never seem to have anyone over so no one sees it 
. But I'm going to get on photobucket and see how it goes this time 
my mom and grandparents visited this weekend and we put my christmas tree up on saturday. tink looks great on top of the tree! i was gonna post pics but i think i'm gonna wait until i get the outside of my house done too. right now it's too cold and rainy to go out there and do it, so i'm going to wait until stops raining. i'll take pics because i have a new disney-related outside christmas "thing" that i want to share with you guys! oh, and i have to share pics of our neighbor's house. they have SEVEN christmas blow up things in their yard!!!!!! and one of them plays music!
i'm off to watch my favorite movie of all time, "the lord of the rings: return of the king" (it's a tie with "steel magnolias"). it's on TNT so i'm a happy camper.

We put up our tree this weekend and decorated our outside as well. I have so much stuff out there, but I still feel like its naked on one side! We have a 7 foot blow up Mickey, light up deer, Santa and his sleigh with reindeer that light up, candy canes up and down our driveway that light up, a light up snoopy on his house, a light up frosty, lights on our bushes, 2 light up wooden christmas trees my dad made, light up garland up our rails on the porch, lights on the roof, lights on our door, a light up wreath, and my most favorite.....a 7 foot like up tree that plays to music. I got it at garden ridge last year after christmas for $50 bucks on sale from $250!!! I am so gonna get me more this year!!! The lights on our roof also attach to a music and light show!! I really like to go all Griswold this time of year!!
We need pics! Oh and I watched Christmas Vacation this weekend!!!! LOVE IT!!!!! So I would like to see your Griswold home

OH MY GOSH, the LOTR trilogy are my fav movies (besides Wizard of Oz). I have watched it all weekend long!! I love me some Legolas and Aragorn!!

oh, i'd totally do it if i had a day to waste! i just love all those movies but return of the king is my favorite. when aragorn gives his, "not this day" speech near the end i just boo hoo! and have you seen the uncut version where the mouth of sauron comes out of mordor and talks to aragorn and gandalf? it's CRAZY! but really cool.
