HOley Moley Dawn!! That is one crazy thanksgiving!!!! That must have been so sad to see that older gentleman like that :( Glad your car was still there though!! goodness!
YAY for 11 days to go!! I am so excited for you..i have been thinking of our disney christmas trip alot lately..and i would go back at this time of year again in a heartbeat!:goodvibes

Well, it sounds like you guys had some added stress for Thanksgiving. My grandpa is about 85 and has had some similar incidents. Lately, he's been working on his Christmas lights, and we've been scared to death that he's going to try to climb up on the roof himself or something (he won't let anyone help him). It doesn't help matters any that he thinks the entire town should be lit up by HIS christmas lights. If you've ever seen, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, it's pretty much like that :rotfl: . In fact, we were all joking about it last night because he has duct tape to hold all of his plugs into the surge protector!

I need to clean too, but I just can't seem to get myself motivated. I'm going to have to pretty soon though because DD #1's birthday is coming up, and we'll have people over for her party.

my grandfather is like that, too. he's very stubborn and tries to do things he shouldn't. i'm sure i'll be that way too when i get older though. that movie is one of my fav christmas movies!

I know how you feel. My grandma fell on thanksgiving day years ago and hit her head. She was ok, but had a big egg on her forehead for a couple of days. :sad2: We just celebrated her 90th birthday two days before thanksgiving. :woohoo:

happy belated birthday to your grandmother!!!

Yikes!! I'm glad he's ok!

I must admit, when you were telling about all the running, I thought at least she won't feel guilty for eating all the goodies!

We had a downer of an Easter a few years ago.......my Grandma fell and broke her foot OFF, literally...It broke off!

Kinda put a damper on the leg of lamb.;)

holy moley! that's crazy about your grandmother. what happened, if you don't mind me asking? that just sounds horrible.

Hello!!!

(I'll have to read back) but I noticed that you are going in 12 days, and I am going in 11 (well 12 really but still...). I hope you have a lovely time!!

you too!!!!! say hello if you see me.

Aww, what a sad thing to happen to him. He must have fallen. I'm glad someone found him and you were able to get him treatment. I'm glad your car was still there, that could have been disasterous.

I had no idea about your no mall shopping rule. I completely understand why you would avoid it, I'm an early shopper too. I work in retail and I don't have a choice but to deal with cranky, tired, rude (sometimes) people. I'd much rather be around the people who have a jolly holiday spirit. ;)

well, working in retail, i'm sure this is not a fun time of year for you! hope it's not too crazy.

i'm sure you'll be back during christmas someday soon!

my mom and grandparents visited this weekend and we put my christmas tree up on saturday. tink looks great on top of the tree! i was gonna post pics but i think i'm gonna wait until i get the outside of my house done too. right now it's too cold and rainy to go out there and do it, so i'm going to wait until stops raining. i'll take pics because i have a new disney-related outside christmas "thing" that i want to share with you guys! oh, and i have to share pics of our neighbor's house. they have SEVEN christmas blow up things in their yard!!!!!! and one of them plays music! :upsidedow

i'm off to watch my favorite movie of all time, "the lord of the rings: return of the king" (it's a tie with "steel magnolias"). it's on TNT so i'm a happy camper. :) i just love it - the characters and the fight between good and evil and the theme that the smallest person can change everything just gets to me. plus orlando bloom as legolas and viggo mortenson as aragorn doesn't hurt. :rolleyes1

10 days today!!!!!!! :yay:

I always watch the LOTR movies around this time of year too. This year, I'm going to a theatre to see a marathon. Not sure if I'm up for the whole trilogy, but I'll make it to at least one of them!

10 days today!!!!!!! :yay:

I noticed your ticker said 10 today....you'll be doing the single dance tomorrow!! :woohoo:

I'm sorry about your interesting Thanksgiving. I'm glad you guys had a good rest of the day and I hope he is doing ok. I'm sure he is sore from the fall :guilty:

We had a good weekend :goodvibes and I was able to get most of the Christmas deco's up! Thank goodness.....I really was being kind of grumpy this year doing this stuff. Just didn't seem fun but I wanted to get it DONE! I guess we are just going to have to start doing a party or something b/c we never seem to have anyone over so no one sees it :snooty:

Ray can send picture mail right?? B/c you guys are going to HAVE to send me a castle pic when it's lit at night!!!! I'm itching to see it (

<~~~me pouting!!)

Can't wait to see the neighbor's yard!!! I always look at some of those blow up things but always end up telling myself NO WAY!!! Plus they are expensive to buy :headache:

I was going to try and do an update tonight. My computer has been SUPER slow which is very annoying when you have no idea why. I keep losing my internet connection and have to completely reboot :headache: . But I'm going to get on photobucket and see how it goes this time :upsidedow

Have a good monday!!

We put up our tree this weekend and decorated our outside as well. I have so much stuff out there, but I still feel like its naked on one side! We have a 7 foot blow up Mickey, light up deer, Santa and his sleigh with reindeer that light up, candy canes up and down our driveway that light up, a light up snoopy on his house, a light up frosty, lights on our bushes, 2 light up wooden christmas trees my dad made, light up garland up our rails on the porch, lights on the roof, lights on our door, a light up wreath, and my most favorite.....a 7 foot like up tree that plays to music. I got it at garden ridge last year after christmas for $50 bucks on sale from $250!!! I am so gonna get me more this year!!! The lights on our roof also attach to a music and light show!! I really like to go all Griswold this time of year!!:rotfl2:

OH MY GOSH, the LOTR trilogy are my fav movies (besides Wizard of Oz). I have watched it all weekend long!! I love me some Legolas and Aragorn!!:lovestruc

Heck, I need too for all the decorations I want!! I would have my yard covered like a pinball machine if I could!!:rotfl2: But, I think Chad would put his foot down, but me and Hollie would win!:thumbsup2

Oh, me too!! I always cry when he does the speech. I just love those movies! I want to sit down one weekend and watch all 3 of the uncut versions! Heaven.................

I am going out on a limb by saying that I've never seen any of the LOTR movies. :sad2: I feel like I've been under a rock, why have I never seen these? The next time I'm sick I will rent the whole set and then I will understand your apreciation for it. ;)

In 30 mins it will be 8 days !!! You must be getting ready to pack, or have you?

hlrababy You go girl, with your decorations, the more the better!!!

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

we should all get together and have a LOTR-fest! ;)

no packing yet! well, i take that back. i have gotten together all the ponchos, glow jewelry, ibuprofen, dramamine, mickey ears, etc. that i always take. but i haven't packed any clothes yet. i'm waiting until the weekend before to look at the forecast. florida weather in december is SO CRAZY so i want to have some sort of idea on what to take instead of bringing my whole closet!

oh, you must see the LOTR movies! do you like to read? if so, read the books first. they are BRILLIANT. one of my favorite quotes is from galadriel, the elf queen (played by cate blanchett in the movies) where she says to frodo (the hobbit who carries the ring), "even the smallest person can change the course of the future," because it's so true!

another quote from the movie (i don't think it's in the book) i love is where frodo and sam (his best friend) are talking about how they shouldn't even be in the situation they're in and sam says, "it’s like in the great stories, mr. frodo. the ones that really mattered. full of darkness and danger, they were. and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. because how could the end be happy? how could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? but in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. even darkness must pass. a new day will come. and when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. those were the stories that stayed with you. that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. but i think, mr. frodo, i do understand. i know now. folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. they kept going. because they were holding on to something." then frodo says, "what are we holding onto, sam?" and sam says, "that there’s some good in this world, mr. frodo… and it’s worth fighting for. " :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

sorry.....i'm telling ya - don't get me started on LOTR! it's almost as bad as disney world with me! :rotfl:

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

9 DAYS!!!

And I have this all figured out!!! I'm coming to sleep in one of the 14 bunks that Luke has. He won't mind I'm sure!!!!

i'm sure he wouldn't! he'd be glad to have the company although you better like watching cars, speedracer and tinker bell because he wears those movies out!!!

To see the CASTLE??!!??!!??!!??? Are you kidding me.....big deal! I don't even care if he snores!

WOOHOO!!! 8 DAYS!!!!!

I'm soooo jealous! There weren't many Christmas decorations up when we were there three weeks ago - and we really missed seeing them. I'm not making this mistake next year - I NEED to make our annual trip during the holidays!:santa:

Can't wait to see your house decorations. I wanted to put ours up too this weekend but it was miserable out - unseasonably warm but rainy. I'm sure I'll now be stuck outside doing it this weekend when the temps. will be back down to the 30s!:headache:
