So the 7am plan is to have me on my phone doing ILL and my friend on hers doing LL. Now let's say we get Safari for 9 and then FOP for close to the same time. Obviously Safari isn't the shortest ride going. Will the blue umbrellas help? Or do you cancel and try to get a different time? (which btw would be for FOP because I want Safari as early as I can get it).
I know we could communicate, but lets be honest by the time you talk the times move so much that it wouldn't matter anyway.

Yes, the blue umbrellas will help only if there is still availability. If there isn't then they won't do anything. I would not cancel FOP if you have it and risk not getting it at all.
This happened a couple times this last trip and I would go on the shortest ride first, even if that meant that ride was later than the one for the longer ride. It worked out fine.

On my last trip, I booked my ILL for FoP and my LL for Safari for the same time—I was hopping to AK, so it automatically put me at the 2pm time and it actually worked out great for me. I got to AK at 2, did FoP, since that takes a fairly predictable amount of time, then headed to my Safari, with plenty of time to spare.

You can always talk to the CM at the tappoint and explain the situation if it doesn't let you through.

Even if FOP and Safaris are at the exact same time, you'll actually have 80 minutes to get through one attraction and get to the other (you can scan in up to 5 minutes early and up to 15 minutes late for any reservation). That should be plenty of time.
