It's Patriot Day in Boston and I'm gliding my last minute preparations for this little run they do today. Today I get to run in the Boston Marathon. Matt is here and we have had a great weekend, but I'm ready to run. Both nervous and excited.

Sharon and Lisa have been in New Orleans this weekend for....gymnastics. This was her 8 state regional competition. This is also the qualifying meet for JO nationals. She competed last night and won her age group with a 38. Next meet is in Long Beach in May.

I hope she does not expect me to win the marathon since she won.

Way to go, Lisa!!

I'm back. What a great weekend. Boston marathon lived up to it's reputation as the greatest marathon. The crowds were loud and big. The course is hilly and tough for a Florida runner, but weather was perfect.

It was exciting to run the same race that broke the world record. I'm sure I was pushing them along.

Oh yes, the winner was looking over his shoulder to make sure he beat the "florida boy"......

Sadly that was when Jim was in Chicago for the Chicago Marathon. The Boston Marathon is the big one.

Well, speaking of Ironman......I made the decision last fall to wait until 2013. I'll do Florida Ironman, November 2013.

That sure seems a long way off, but I need to focus at least 9 months of training for it. Adding swimming takes more training time and I can't do that until Lisa is off to MSU. I'll start training Fall 2012 for the 2013 event.

I don't think I'll ever make it to Hawaii and you have to qualify for it by being in the top 2% of an Ironman. I can't say I'll never make it because that is what I thought about Boston.

I had decided to try and qualify for New York Marathon for November 2012. That gives me this year to run the qualifying time. Most people get into NY marathon by a lottery system. However, you can get guarantee entrance if you run a qualifying time. That's the way I want to get in.

He has officially grown up. I like the birthday party he is hosting. A 5K run at 5:30 am on Saturday. He did not want to go out drinking with the guys....just to much potential for problems.
