DITTO DITTO AND DOUBLE DITTO.

Hit the nail right on the head. So many sad stories. My heart goes out to this young girl, and bravo Suzane for making a difference in her life.

Prep day today....so far, no biggie. Haven't had to drink the yuckky stuff yet.

Jared came out of his room at 10pm last night and announced that he's going to Prom.....on Saturday. I couldn't even imagine having to take him in to Phoenix after school today to get fitted for a tux. He long ago outgrew his, and Jay's is still too big for him. Was concerned too, that it would be far too late to order one. AND a corsage. Grrrr....

But then I remembered that there is a small tuxedo shop in Carefree, so I ran up there today, and the owner says "No Problem!!" YAY!!! So we can go get him fitted after 2:00 and he won't have to go all the way to Phoenix to pick it up either. Whew.
Local grocer can do a wrist corsage. Whew. I took some heat from Megan and Jay, for not deciding to make one for the girl myself, but she's a Junior graduating this year and going to college next year, so I wanted to be certain it was done right....I don't trust myself to make it perfect for her one and only Junior/Senior prom.

At least this has made my day go faster. :thumbsup2

Will post pictures if they come to our house. Guess I'll have to insist.

This is so like a boy!! Girls have this planned since the first day of school!! I am excited for him and would love to see pictures!

You are kinder then I am.

My response would be, "That's nice. Let me know how it goes getting your tux and flowers." :sad2:

Lisa's has decided she doesn't have any interest in going to the Jr/Sr Prom, but she wants a new dress (for the girls cruise). So, she made a deal with her Dad. Instead of going to the Prom just so she can get a new dress, she won't go and he will just pay for a new dress. (The Prom tickets are like $85 each, so that works!)

Ha, thought you were going to say you took some heat from Megan and Jay ..... for doing all this for him! Yeah, I would have been tempted to say "good luck with that". But then I am looking from the viewpoint of a Mom with a newly minted 20 year old.

Hope he has fun, pictures would be good!

Jim and Sharon, you are very lucky. When Lisa gets into the dating etc, you will be nowhere around.

I never went to Prom, so I guess I'm kind of a sucker. This will probably be the only time Jared goes, too. Trust me, though, he'll be paying me back.

It's at the Wrigley Mansion, so the cost just to enjoy a night there should be worth it.

Test all done. The ulcerative colitis is back, no surprise there. He's doing some biopsies, but doesn't think anything will come of them. He said I'm clear for cancer, so that's a huge relief.
*Hearts* and *Hugs* to Mary and Sam, for all that they went through.
And extra PDFG, too!

Gee - I miss a few days and see what happens, lots of news.

Great job on all of the selections for the "last minute prom" -- and absolutely, we want pictures...

Tell Jared to have a GREAT TIME.

WONDERFUL - WONDERFUL - WONDERFUL ----- GREAT NEWS. And thanks for thinking of Sam and Mary.......and we don't need pictures of this event.

I think it is a great idea that Dad is getting a dress instead of Lisa going to the Junior Prom.....

(Lisa - hold out for the Senior Prom.)

AUTOP with our DISKIDS Prom....

Busy day tomorrow...there's a huge classic car show in Cave Creek...Jay is entered. Apparently they issue everyone a spot for parking, but most cars will spend the afternoon cruising "main" street. Sounds like a lot of fun.

And of course, prom. At least the preparation day is easier with a boy. :wizard:

Stacey, I hope Jared had a great time at Prom! Pictures please! ;)

Here's Tori and a friend at The Vines Gardens (near our home) pre-prom:

I love Tori's dress!!! She looks stunning!!!

I didn't get any pictures of Jared's date or his friends, since he was the driver and went to pick everyone up. Hopefully, someone will share with us.

This was after Jared got home from the prom, not the best picture, but I was half asleep.

His date's dress was purple, with a gold band of material around the mid-section, thus the gold vest and tie.

Very handsome, Stacey! :thumbsup2

I hear Jared had a good time (he & Tori texted at some point last night!! :rotfl:)

I'm so glad they're friends!

He said he had a good time. I wish I could have seen it, they were at the Wrigley Mansion. (the chewing gum people)

Me too! I think Alaska really bonded them! :)

Tori's prom was at The Fox in downtown Atlanta (not quite a mansion, but a beautiful historic theater). She said they left the lights "on" the whole night (oh the horror! ;)) and the DJ "stunk" (OK, that would be the deal-breaker!!)

The only story I've heard so far is about the entertainment the Student Council hired without seeing any pictures or videos. I guess this gal was supposed to be a belly-dancer/snake charmer, and ended up being more of a pole dancer! The kids said one boy got kicked out of the dance for tossing dollar bills at her.
I bet the school doesn't let the Student Council choose the entertainment again!

I bet the boys were happy!!! :rotfl:

It's Patriot Day in Boston and I'm gliding my last minute preparations for this little run they do today. Today I get to run in the Boston Marathon. Matt is here and we have had a great weekend, but I'm ready to run. Both nervous and excited.

Sharon and Lisa have been in New Orleans this weekend for....gymnastics. This was her 8 state regional competition. This is also the qualifying meet for JO nationals. She competed last night and won her age group with a 38. Next meet is in Long Beach in May.

I hope she does not expect me to win the marathon since she won.
