Il Pochi il Fiero y Blabbermouths...Magical Reunion FINALLY!!!

Stacey, wonderful news! You're just going to have to get Megan & Dave to move to AZ.

congrats Stacey, Megan & Dave
(we will have to wait as they won'd do those two surgeries together)

Nuts! It seems to make sense to me...if they already have her opened up, and she's got lots of support there.........

I wish! Even the one that is still here (Jordan) is planning on moving to a neighborhood closer to Paul's station...which will put them a minimum of an hour to an hour and a half away. Granted, they can get a lot more house for their money down there...but still......
Not that I need to worry about babies from them for a loooong time yet.....they haven't even planned a wedding yet.

That's really not 'snow' as northerners would think of it... its actually sleet that has collected... but the Florida Natives all think its snow...

We get that here sometimes too....everyone thinks it's fascinating. Our dogs end up confused. :rotfl:
I just don't understand why people are always so surprised when it happens. Unless you live in the middle of the Sahara desert, you're bound to get SOME bad weather once in a while. :confused3
But it sure does look funny to see snow/sleet right next to the orange trees, or here...on the cactus.

Question for you.....
Why would someone who spent every waking hour of every day from Kindergarten all the way through high school graduation thinking of different ways to torment someone else, ask to be their friend on Facebook???

I just had a friend request from a gal I went to school with. She thought she was the best of the best from kindergarten on...and that I was dirt, and she never seemed to run out of names to call me, ways to tease me....she was unbelievable.
So why would she want to be "friends" now? I hate ignoring requests, it just doesn't seem nice...but I don't see the point in her being able to check into my daily life now. The only good thing is that now she's as heavy as I am, if not more so. (I know, that wasn't nice at all...but she called me fat every day for years!) :sad2:

I accepted a request today from another gal who was a real sweetheart. Seems like all the people who have contacted me were all the really nice kids...just normal, not in any cliques.

Checking in from sunny :sunny: Florida.....make that :cold: Florida.

Brrr.....and don't laugh, we have blankets on our trees down here...

Thanks for posting the picture Kiki - I saw it is snow. It is wet, it is cold, it is white - yup snow...

GaRRy - dn't put your fingers in the horsie's mouth - that way it won't bit....seriously, sorry and hope you feel better.

Stacey - congrats...a new :earsboy: or :earsgirl: to play with.

And since I am not on Facebook, I don't have any Friends...wait, that did not come out right...

Take care everyone...

Sharon and I survived our WDW marathon weekend. It actually was a great weekend. We were joined by 6 of our local running buddies.

Before the trip we went to GoodWill and bought extra clothes. We dress like "homeless people" for the race with the intent of pitching the out layers as we warm up. DIS donates all the clothing to local shelters.

Sharon and I ran the half marathon on Saturday morning. Actually the weather was not to bad until the end when it really started to sleet/rain. Running warmed us up and we pitched our throw away clothing. After the finish line it got cold as we were walking through the finish area getting medals and food. A quick run to the car solved that.

Sunday I ran the full marathon with friends. Sharon slept in. It was a great day for a race. It was sunny so that made the difference. Saturday was cloudy. If you dressed right it was a great race....if you didn't it sucked.

Disney is a great marathon. There are lots of runners and everyone is just there to have fun. The crowds are exciting. Running through the parks are fun.

It was just a great weekend. Better cold then hot!!

Jim, that sounds like great fun!!! Congrats to both of you! :thumbsup2

Jim,

Sounds like you and Sharon had a great weekend. IF and that's a big IF I was a runner I think Disney would be a great place for a race. Where did you stay for the weekend?

Irene you have plenty of friends right here. However I think you would enjoy Facebook. You can find out some many fascinating things about your friends like:

  • What color their bra is
  • What hours Virgil is working and with whom
  • Who planted what on their farms
  • Who whacked a mobster
  • Easily share pictures and view others pictures
  • Or you could even just join, not post, and read everyones updates. :cool2:

A friend of mine did her first marathon this weekend... in memory of a friend who should have been running it with her. She said that she is STILL cold and hasn't warmed up yet. (Not to mention rather sore.) I'm proud of her... I haven't seen her in 20 years, and she'd be the LAST person I'd think could ever run a marathon... including even ME!!!) No idea what her time was, but it doesn't matter... she did it!!!

Jim & Sharon, congratulations on the marathons. I was thinking of you Sat morning when they showed everyone at the start with the plastic bags over them and all the clothes that they collected throughout the race to give to shelters. Congratulations again.

Good morning everyone. This morning when I had to take Anthony to the bus stop I had to use my defroster due to the fact that there was a serious thick frost on my winshields!!! What the hay is going on here? I'm getting a little tired of this cold weather. But as scary as that sounds, I am off to New York this weekend for a friend's Surprise 50th birthday party. So, I have to dig out my winter coat, gloves, hat and scarf for the trip. I hope she appreciates this sacrifice. It's supposed to get in the 70's this weekend in Florida. I hope it's still here when I get back. :thumbsup2

Happy New Year to everyone, by the way. 2010 looks like it's going to be a good one.

Jim,

Sounds like you and Sharon had a great weekend. IF and that's a big IF I was a runner I think Disney would be a great place for a race. Where did you stay for the weekend?

We stayed off property at World Quest Resorts. We had a three bedroom condo, 2400 SF, for $135 a night. That was about $20 per night more then POP.

It is right across the street from World Marriott so very easy access to WDW.

For this trip ,since we were traveling with a group, having a full kitchen and dining room was important. We cooked all our own meals so we did not have to stand around and fight the crowds.

You are absolutely correct that time does not matter. She did it and will forever be a marathoner.

I like the saying...."It is better to start and finish dead last then never having started."

Also like...."the person outside the door has already done the hardest part of the run". Sometimes just getting outside is the toughest part.

:lmao: I'm procrastinating going to walk the dog by reading the DIS and facebook and I see your post...ok, ok, I'm going, really honest, I'll go get my coat.

John took photos at a marathon on Sunday morning with the temps in the low 20s, not the big Houston race that's coming up this weekend, I think but another one - he was absolutely freezing standing in one place.

Jim - thanks for posting. We were beginning to wonder if you and Sharon were the latest additions to Blizzard Beach.

What a great concept - combining a clothing drive with a race - only WDW would think of that!

Kiki - congrats to your friend on her accomplishment, not only in the cold but that she completed a Race in Memory.
